Mrdobs. If you have time, I would like to hear your honest intuitive thoughts on how your country is situated and positioned as a super power in the 21st century. What changes you would like to see, more and less of?

"fallacious claims? Prove it. I've said before that I can't fully prove my belief in creationism because NO ONE WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED. You can't fully prove your belief in Darwinism because NO ONE WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED."

    Fallacious claim number 1.

This is such a pitiful argument, murders happen when no-one was there to see them, police investigate the crime scene, forensics and such, maybe find some DNA and identify the killer. Doe you really expect me to believe someone has to see something happen to work out what happened?

    -

"There simply isn't a need to belittle someone's intelligence or to say that God is a myth when you CANNOT prove such a notion."

    Fallacious claim number 2

The burden of proof is on you to prove gods existence, not in the form of voices in peoples heads or a warm fuzzy feeling inside you but with solid evidence that can be examined independently.

    -

"Forget all your science, there is a fundamental, untenable flaw in the Darwinist model that deflates the whole framework of theory, right down at the root of it all. Darwinism at its core is a philosophy, and a very poor one at that."

    Fallacious claim number 3

There is mountains of evidence supporting Darwinism, literally mountains. If it wasn't so it would be rejected by the scientific community, thats what science is about. Just because you haven't read or understood the volumes upon volumes of real, hard, verifiable evidence doesn't mean it isn't there and accurate.

There are so many more asinine and scrambled ideas in your posts i hardly know where to begin, but to bring it back to the beginning, someone claiming to be a deity incarnate is not evidence, if god exists, he could demonstrate it in a undeniable way that would leave doubters like me no option but to believe. All the anecdotes of personal experience of god are not evidence of anything except self delusion.

What I meant is that sometimes God allows temptation, hard times etc. into my life to help me grow and become a better person all around. I.E. I got fired for no apparent reason from my last job...long story short, but I ended up where I never wanted to go (smack in the middle of the country). Couple months later I landed the best job I've ever had by a long shot (still there) and 9 months after that got married. So getting fired and losing a lot of money turned into a blessing in disguise.

Huh? isn't that just called "life"? sometimes good things happen, and sometimes bad things happen. It's really al pretty simple. You don't have to make everything in your life seem so profound. You got fired, found a better job, and found a female that liked you back. Absolutely ridiculous how you can link something like this to a god.

The term superpower bugs me, it only means military might. Nothing else. I would like to see my country step back a bit from that and work more on being a superpower technologically, educationally and so on. There is a portion of jingoistic American society that thinks we are the greatest country on Earth, great at what, I am uncertain. It seems that everything else is headed downhill and all we really have is popular culture and war to export. It used to be that people from all around the World clamored to come to America to be educated and to live. It seems that that fact is receding a lot. Not sure if that answers your question but that is an opinion I have that many may not agree with about the USA.

Fist of all, good ideas and statements. I feel a lot of people share the same interests and yearn for some of the same values to be reconciled back in to our system. But a lot of people are too afraid to speak up, for the fear of one's punishment.

I can relate to the jingoistic society because on the surface, the structure and economy is that of one to be desired. From all places and cultures around the world.

There's a hint of what you were talking about the other day, which reminded me to speak up about this, was when you were speaking about information and how accessible it is at any given time now. Which leads me back to what I was talking about the other week about co-creation.

What I have noticed is that a lot of kids growing up these days, are truly locked to their computers. Since our generation is the last to know what it was like to not have computers affect our lives, we know both sides of the story.

This is which leads me to believe that the people from our generation are quite important in the grand scale of economic evolution.

Secondly, if you, right now, were the president of the United States of America. What would be of your first concern?

    getting maps to EVERYONE! :D

Another point of mine is the idea of "globalization" takes much of the old "american spirit" wind out of the sails of a lot of people these days. It seems that many politicians are eager to sell out their nation to American leaders of multi-national corporations and I feel that is misguided. To think that many corporations locate themselves off-shore to avoid paying taxes to the country that allowed them to be so prosperous is troubling.

Mussolini aligned his fascist government with corporations over the interest of the people and I do not see much difference in our current American society. This has been going on far longer than George W Bush has been in office, but we are really seeing the nasty face of it right now.

I realize I am rambling, but that is another thing I see going on in current society. Our government is supposed to be "for the people and by the people" and I am having a hard time thinking that is really what is going on.

This is not to say I hate corporations, they have brought many great things, computers, automobiles etc. But I think this still would have happened if government was a bit more geared towards people than the corporations.

Putting a better face on foreign policy.

I don't think you're rambling at all. There's much of us, my friends and associates that have noticed this pattern for years. But back then everyone was being lead to believe they will be protected from terrorists post 911.

The days are past of where capitalism works in this society we call a democracy. That ended in the middle of the 20th century. On your last note, speaking about corporations. I love the idea as well, but all that is left, is for someone to say they are God. number 1.

There's too much of everything, sides of government with fries, broadcasting networks choosing sides battling for one's attention, when 90% of it is just spoon fed nonsense. No one is working together, it might as well be called: The Separate States of America - To each their zone.

    - Putting a better face on foreign policy.

+ How would you go about doing that?

  • mrdobolina0

UN in place of America in Iraq.

Excellent. And the first few measures and phases?

I'd have to ask my advisors who havent been appointed yet. ;)

    I'm not a military strategist.

That was funny, dude. It's like scrambled eggs over there, when it needs to be sunny side up. Centered, offering assistance when asked, not forced as that never seems to work. I'm by no means a military strategist either, but I'm working on finding one. ;-)
