anyway - how does this end?
Were those cops pretending to be activists or activists pretending to be cops pretending to be activists? can't they be ordinary skin-head infiltrators without being cops given they are not the usual activist? all of this seems to rely on impression rather than proof.

why didn't these supossed 'cop-protesters' just walk the other way instead of trying to break through the police-line, wich they knew would get them arrested?

Last Spring in Paris I saw thousands of protesters (said to be around 30K) marching through the city. Among them were plenty of violent low life fucks, who were there just for the kick. I went into crowd to take pictures and had to run twice because they were reaching for my camera. They were acting as if the reason was they didn't want me taking pics, but they were just fucking aggressive thieves with bandanas on their faces grabbing for the cam.
They didn't seem to be police agents, just regular scumbags.
The kind of human crap that kept on burning cars prolly.Genuine leftist protesters worry me even more, they have no idea what kind of utopian system they want to create.
They were actually protesting about a law that would help liberate the nanny state controlled economy just a tad and create jobs.

(Aug 23 07, 01:23)because they got busted and didn't handle it very well. maybe still trying to stir it up so the rest would be arrested as well. being 'arrested' just gets them out of the situation. they were taken away with their masks and sunglasses still on. i've seen people like that arrested then released back into the crowd, possibly what they were planning but obviously it backfired.

Well, they admit it now:
"Police in Quebec have admitted that the people in the YouTube video linked yesterday on BoingBoing were their officers. However, the press release says "Les policiers ont été repérés par les manifestants au moment où ils ont refusé de lancer des projectiles." In english thats: "The police officers were located by the demonstrators when they refused to launch projectiles." Now that version of events is very clearly contradicted by the video, which shows demonstrators telling the officers to put the rock down, not to launch it."

and they say they were just there to keep the peace.... with rocks and bottles and shuving old men around.

(Aug 23 07, 09:17)that's what I meant.. if they would have just walked away, it would make them a lot less suspicious, 'cause my guess is any 'normal' protester would like to avoid getting arrested.
