I've always dated non-designers to avoid this issue, but i guess it's really not that big of a deal, plus half the stuff i release sucks anyways because some asshole client X'ed all the good ideas and directed the project to their personal likings. (ahh vent)
I guess I was just worried about her asking me what i thought. But if I don't have anything nice to say I'll just keep quiet

(Aug 1 07, 08:35)Everything I could say has been said above...except if the work you end up proceeding usually sucks, it's probably your fault and not the client. Being able to present/explain your work is just as important as creative talent.

this type of situation ruined my first marriage... well, not entirely.. but was major bone of contention.. she would ask my opinion on her work and if it wasn't what she wanted to hear she would get mad at me... I would say - "Is this the way you take feedback at work" and she'd be "Well this isn't work, you're my boyfriend/husband" meh, it was awful... it's a no win situation really, unless she's really talented and her shit don't stink...
thankfully my current gf is quite talented, yet we still differ dramatically in opinion but she's mature enough to distance herself emotionally and keep things professional when it comes to critique or discussion...

However, I think there's a difference between disliking everything because it's actually bad, and disliking it just because of your personal taste. When it comes to personal taste, you have to let it go sometimes. I'm very picky, so I know that it's difficult. I'm sure something happened since this thread started (quite a while ago), but I hope you just broke up with her if you really couldn't take it.
