I think it also makes sense to wait a bit since the newer models may have big improvements.

you people really live in consumer bubbles.
does anyone have any self-conscious left these days?
it's just a fucking phone. when i am out i talk to people or enjoy the environment, not stare at some fucked up tiny screen covered with fingerprints, walking around like a socially isolated non-physical cyberentity on the latest Nikes and what not yet not even knowing about the birds and the bees.
i shit on this thread and all that it stands for.

Nice link, spiff.
"First and foremost it's supposed to make calls. We've seen a lot of cell phones lately that seem to forget this important feature."
Good to hear that someone else agrees with me.
"Call quality on the iPhone is, in so many words, excellent."
Good to hear this as well.

Actually, att plans are pretty good, $99 for 1350 min is cheaper then the other carriers smartphone/data plans. yeah you pay more money for the device but that's apple, it's always been like that.
I do think it's funny that people are calling others fanboys for getting one, heard the same shit when iPods first came around, now those same people rock em'... pft
I wonder if the direct connect to my ipod in my car will work with an iphone

I'm late joining in, but it's quite awesome. Everything works as good as shows in the commercials, I'd say. Wi-Fi is awesome. Sucks NT won't work correctly but I'm sure QBN is working on a solution.

crouwel - you could say that about anything though. cars for instance. don't you love cars? its the same idea.

pretty hard to dial 911 though:
*phone
*keypad
*9*1*1
*call
(you've already been mugged and had iPhone stolen)

(Jul 1 07, 09:56)Didn't think about it until I bought it, most of the updates will consist of a software update, downloaded through iTunes.
Hardware updates might include more memory or a higher res camera. Even if they want to add PTT, software could reprogram the volume button for that feature.
I feel that the hardware updates will be necessary at about the time the battery life goes south and you'll need a new handset anyway.

unfortunately nobody shepherds the sheep quite like Apple.. who else can lead the blind in such an unprecedented fashion...
At the end of the day, I'm moderately happy with the tools they make for our craft, but I refuse to inject my lifestyle with such brand-happy, overpriced, mediocrity...

take out 'shepherd' and insert 'preys on'
