There are 4 reasons why religion fails:
1) What is the origin of the god? Why is there god rather than no god? How do you get matter and energy from god? How do you get a rock out of god?
2) What is the origin of god? How do you get god from non-god? How do you go from a rock to a tree?
3) What is the origin of god? How does a god become a self-conscious being? How do you go from a tree, to an animal, to a god?
4) What is the origin of good and evil? How does an amoral being become morally aware?

My conclusion that God exists is based on four things.
1. I see his handiwork everywhere.
2. I have studied all the main religions and find the God of the Bible to be the most coherent, loving and sovereign.
3. I have had many experiences where the supernatural has invaded my life: near-death incidents, sudden dawnings of understanding, intense communal experiences with God in nature.
4. Faith. There is a hell of a lot that I won't figure out this side of the grave. None of us will.
It really is silly, I suppose, to argue about faith, because faith by definition is a belief in the intangible, that which we cannot quantify by any means known to man.
And also I think it's pretty awesome that I spelled ask 'aks' a couple posts before this.
