Gramme, those points only 'prove' the existence of God in YOUR eyes. Can you not concede that your beliefs are all based on what you FEEL is right & not on any kind of justifiable, scientific logic?
On the other hand, even science can't PROVE there is no God.
Why is it so hard for humanity to admit that we don't really know?
That's my biggest question.

...Because that would be a lie. As I basically said in my last post, there are revelatory and faith-related aspects to my faith, as well as conclusions I have come to based on my own limited logic.
The revelatory aspect of my belief is based on revelation in Scripture and on personal experience. In other words, I believe that the people who wrote the Bible were writing down revelation that was given to them by God, as opposed to some very creative ideas they cooked up on their own. I believe that it is God's perfect law and thus I try to live accordingly.
The personal aspect of my faith comes from the promptings of my conscience (we all have one), the Godly examples that I have seen people live, and miracles that I have seen and heard of.
The logical aspect comes from some pretty simple principles of reasoning. Such as the fact that infinite regressions are impossible. Everything that exists needs a previous entity to create it. Nothing moves unless acted upon. This is a simple law of physics that no one denies. Things don't pop into existence ex nihilo. Since everything has come into existence by being acted upon by other things, the buck has to stop somewhere. THe only LOGICAL explanation for creation then is that there must be some being, some force that is eternal and exists outside the bounds of time. Something that is intelligent: this is evidenced by the fact that the universe is full of intricate systems, all functioning together with brilliant precision and infiinite variability.
When I put all of these things together, I arrive at some conclusions by reasoning, and some by faith. As I mentioned earlier today, there are some things that I just don't understand, things that I don't think can be explained by finite human minds. This is where faith comes into play.
Faith is not something that I or anyone else has conjured from thin air. It is a thing that was given to me, that has been revealed. Has nothing to do with my ability to reason or comprehend. It is inherently supernatural, superlogical.

I think we can all agree, no matter what side of the debate you might fall on, that the people they chose to represent those opposing viewpoints in this "summit of the minds" are slightly better and more intelligent than watching monkeys fart into the microphone.

That is where the science becomes science fiction. The creation guys use all of these scientific principles up until that point. At that point all science goes out the window. The designer doesn't need a cause, the uncaused cause and all that other mallarkey.

Science can do no better, since the Big Bang is really more of a philosophical position than a scientific one (the definition of science being that which we can learn by observation and testing of tangible things).
