with expereince and a good book, 80-100 should be very attainable, IMO.

(Apr 25 07, 14:04)attainable yes. but it's a choice, at least for me. i like the people i work for, and they honestly can't pay more. at least now...

Ampersanderson I understand your dedication. So i guess it comes down to how much do you think you are worth? The people you are working for are making a shit load of money dont get that wrong. Unless they are non-profit or more on the art side rather then AD stuff.

btw your thesis work is great ;)

i honestly didn't think i was worth what i make now. but low and behold my company values me as an employ and gave me a bump. the downer is that we don't know how to control clients so sometimes the work suffers.

(Apr 25 07, 11:44)this thread scares me, maybe i should just go to graduate school and not work @ an agency and just become a prof. or maybe i should have chosen a different major.

haven't read all the responses yet but yes full-time jobs exist all over the place...the problem is finding a good one. the good stuff never makes its way to craigslist. its all word-of-mouth.
I have a steady part time gig and also do freelance. It works out well and helps me from getting to burnt out.
for the person who asked about the san diego scene... i really can't compare it to much because i have never worked anywhere else, but there's definitely enough work here to get by. the problem is the pay isn't as good as LA.

From what I can see there is tons of full-time in San Diego and some actually sound good.
I freelance so no FT searches for me, but i come across them a lot.
SD has good design work, you just gotta find it... get in the loop.

if you can survive on it, freelance is the way to go. love the freedom.

I'm art director for Mhz networks now, it's ok if you haven't heard of us. we just launched nationally on directv and fios, soon to be on cox nationally. i like broadcast but i miss the web so much.

oh, sweet!
i do know of you through my DC non-profit connections/clients. nice work you have lined up and i will definitly stay tuned to see it progress.
how are the cherry blossoms? ;)
- tadcautious0
cherry blossoms have come and gone:( yeah i like working in non-profits right now but i am trying to convince my work to let me move to denver to work remotely, we just partnered with kbdi there. by summer we'll have a new website too, the one up now is old and depicts our old brand.
- madirish0
cheers to remotely working tad- i have somehow convinced people to let me do it... ;) denver is fun.
i figured that might be the old site up- look forward to seeing it grow organically.
