haven't read all the responses yet but yes full-time jobs exist all over the place...the problem is finding a good one. the good stuff never makes its way to craigslist. its all word-of-mouth.
I have a steady part time gig and also do freelance. It works out well and helps me from getting to burnt out.
for the person who asked about the san diego scene... i really can't compare it to much because i have never worked anywhere else, but there's definitely enough work here to get by. the problem is the pay isn't as good as LA.
