Do fulltime jobs exist in the Design world?

I'm biting the bullet on pay for experience. It started as a Intern position.....people saw the Co. boat sinking and all the good designers have left. I'm a one man army. My expiration date is about up here to.
It's been rough finding GRFX wrk before with no Experience and only a Associates. The Designers before me had more liberty to desing now, its all the "creative dir." wrk I'm puching with minimal input from me.
i went from adobe 7/8, Qrk 4,-to-> cs2 suite/Qrk 6, Mcromedia MX, htlm and very lil (generic) CSS here.
we'll see what happens.

Shit, I got the opposite problem. I don't want a full time job and people ask if I can work full time. I'm happy as a freelancer but sometimes it's kinda hard to get new clients. Most companies here in Mexico don't use freelancers.

30k? That cannot be easy to live on. Design jobs in some agencies here start at 60k.

yeah, 30k is whak but sometimes it beats working for an ass company. i like little guys with good attitude better than big-timers with massive ego and shit work.

Yes, but that is more of a programming postion with 5+ years exp. Going rate in NY for design and development is 50 to 100 an .hr. Depending on your exp and or "skills". There is no way you should be making under 50k a year in NYC. If you are... you are being taking advantage of and it is bad for the industry as a whole.

with expereince and a good book, 80-100 should be very attainable, IMO.
