rickey henderson played for the oakland a's in the 80's and always referred to himself in the third person.

Having said all this, the W3C, in their next proposal for future versions of HTML, tend to backtrack rather a lot and say tables ARE in fact acceptable for layout.
In fact everything in that document seems worryingly backward...
- Rand0
no, I don't even get that
- madirish0
a lot of that is due to M$'s infinite wisdom w/ their latest release and thus, the public's available display engines.
*takes another shot of scotch
while the W3C is trying to say what is best for standards-based web production/practice, they are also not stupid and realize the beast does it own thing, thus they must repsect it's influence.
just my thoughts...
- moth0
yes but the Beast is a bunch of print designers who couldn't string a sentence together, let alone POST it.
We should rise up against the Beast before there's Bestiality and Tables everywhere.....

Recently, I have had to edit a site that was done in tables...
I had to install dreamweaver because there were at least 10 nestings of tables at some points. It is madness.
I screwed the layout because some invisible something got too wide and I couldn't find it nor fix it.
Don't do that.
If you don't know CSS and are not getting paid enough to learn it, fine, but don't do that. It sucks.
Also, HTML is "supposed" to be the structure of you document. Technically if you use structural elements to influence the layout of the document, it is going against the original intent of html.
Don't go overboard with div's either.
A UL can hold it's own weight.
A series of P's with the same class can centered, given the same padding, etc, without being wrapped for that sort of thing.
Either way tho, do as good of a job as you can with what you are getting paid.
But don't do what I said above.
Ever.

I think Ricky Henderson should do what's best for Ricky Henderson.

David Cross is quite possibly the funniest human being to ever live, and Rickey Henderson was like my hero growing up, hahahah. The bit is the 2nd part.
This mp3 is also a staple for me in the PVN, whenever people use the word, literally, completely wrong, haha.
