Surely the purpose of trend prediction is an insight to something you don't already know about.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought it was pretty useless.
One trend I'm noticing tho, a lot of logo's are using letters lately.

(Jan 17 07, 06:38)That would be trend #9
Transparency
Transparency is still hot. Again, many may gasp as the mere though of using a shadow, but this updated version is nothing like the shadow boxes that have plagued generic design. These logos invoke images of blending together. Some, like the two transmission bubbles that seem to be popping out the little people in the Blue.Us logo, can symbolize communication, or a sort of overlapping and blending of ideas. Others are a Venn diagram, showing where the company fits, such as AirSet. They use the three colors to symbolize three areas, family, work, and groups, that they hope to organize for the area in the middle, deemed “My Life.”

What about the trend of 'Make my logo bigger'
Bigger logos are SO 2007.

Big logos are timeless kona. Timeless.

The only thing this list is good for is showing it to the client when you present the logo and point out which part of the logo-trend they are part of. Could be a very powerful tool to sell your work to all those ungrateful bastards out there...Not sure I would ever do it though, but it could work.
