Mediatemple refusing to honor their 50% off for the life of the account.
----------------------how many people here signed up for the mediatemple promotion using the "newstoday0105" code 2 years ago which clearly stated that you would get "50% off for the life of the account"
renewal time is here and they simply stated that the "promotion is no longer valid"
when you offer me a deal which clearly states "50% off for the life of the account" i think we all know what that entails.
how can they do this? i thought they were a stand-up company.
i guess i was wrong.
- version30
do you have anything in writing? an email, a screen shot, maybe a saved version of the page offering the discount??
- czawada0
The promotion is still on.
(mt) Media Temple is offering 50% off new hosting accounts for all Newstoday Citizens. Use this special offer code on their website "newstoday0105".
If you are a currently a (mt) Media Temple customer, contact Jason McVearry, for instructions on how to get hooked up.

(jan 17 05, 09:19)Doesn't say anything about the deal being lifelong.

so have you taken your complaint to anyone in the company? or were you just met with a "]no" in your initial call?
- lambsy0
3 friends of mine also signed up, and also confirm the 50% off for life of account promo...
but can't find any documentation. it was clearly offered, but it is nowhere in writing.

"but it is nowhere in writing."

(Jan 9 07, 16:26)please explain how this was "clearly offered" then
- lambsy0
i've written them 3 times, and they just say it is no longer valid, or redirect my email to someone else.
???
- horton0
yup no documentation to be found and i'm guessing that Jason McVearry doesn't work there anymore.

(Jan 9 07, 16:28)from what i can remember Jason from (mt) was on PVN several times plugging the lifetime deal... answering all the "for life!?!" questions... and of course all that discussion is gone now.
- lambsy0
thank you Horton!
i thought i was imagining those thread discussions.
i search and search, but they're nowhere to be found.

(Jan 9 07, 16:28)have you tried jason@mediatemple... ?
- welded0
I remember this sale as well, though I didn't sign up.
- skelly0
i signed up at normal price a week before that promotion. yay.
- moural0
I signed up during the promotion only after it was clear that it would be for the life of the account. I know a ton of people asked about it on here too...
Are you keeping the same account lambsy? I thought mt renewed the service automatically? I signed up on 1/18/05 and haven't been billed (except for my domain) since.
This is ridiculous for them to be doing, though. Like the whole Grid-Server thing wasn't annoying enough...
- silentseven0
I signed up for that as well the deal was if you wrote a testimonial and used the code it was 50% off for lifetime.
- horton0
... so does anyone have it in writing that mt guarantees the rate for lifetime?
