I dig it, but I think I agree with killerqueen here...
that's like saying picasso was a guy who used paint.
When I was in design school Carson was the major influence. Every student wanted to copy his style, and one of my professors was even bitter because he thought he had come up with a lot of the original ideas which Carson cashed in on (he was part of the Cal Arts scene).
Ten years later, his work is out of style and looks horrible to our eyes. Simplicity and clarity rule the day. Not surprising really but it shows you how cyclical the whole thing is.
I like his work and his attitude as to how the work is created. In that HE basically said fuck you to the graphic design community and does what he feels is right with regards to so-called rules and conventions.
He broke all the rules that were set in place by designers before him i.e the graphic design community. And that's why his work stands out from the crowd.
People on here who write him off clearly haven't got a clue (i'd also throw some envy in there as well!).
He influence is huge in graphic design, still.
on a different note, I do respect his work. You can't deny his impact on graphic design.
I feel like I'm supposed to like it, but I cant get into to it.
his stuff was hot back in the old days, not kinda out. but sad to see posting one ppl asking who he's. omg design history 101 again
have you seen his new stuff?
