The attitude towards a seemingly good cause kills me.
Do you donate $10 from every $200 that you take in?
Do you donate half of your income to a cause that you believe in?
No?
Didn't think so.

... whether it be the corporations involved, your feelings toward bono... OR even your silly social issues - FEAR of being seen in public w/something that others have too...
... grow... up.
PonyBoy
(Oct 13 06, 15:58)hehe you sound angry.
i have no social issues at all man. nor do i have issues with bono (maybe he has with me though).
ANYWAY, there's about 6 causes i donate to, 100%.
it's just so much easier then doing 50/50 and support a commercial brand.. unless ofcourse that is important to you. ;)

you really think Gap is going to make a ton of cash of this?
If anything they'll cover their overhead - afterall they do employ THOUSANDS worldwide and have rather pricey overhead to keep just one store running.
And what the $#^& is so wrong w/Gap only giving up half of the proceeds?!!!
Where is there a law written that if you want to be charitable... you have to give up everything?!!
Would you rather they gave NOTHING?!!

there you go, you already defend a corporation who in reality does not give a FUCK about you, but they do care about your wallet, like it is your mother, your pope or your god.
you seem offended like a crying middle-east muslim now.
give it up. the gap is doing this to get a better image like so many other companies have used this trick in the past a million times.
wake up, man.
the world is full of disappointing realities.

"you think the 'corporations' are in this just to make money..."
YES PONYBOY. The are. They have no existence if they don't make profits. they will eventually die or be bought by a competitor if they don't make more and more profits. whether you or i like this or not, it is not important, it is just a simple fact of how this works!

"... in fact, I usually hear nothing but praise for these companies on NT... ESPECIALLY APPLE and they are barely giving any of their profits."
dude i give praise to a company because i like the products, such in the case of apple.
i could not give a shit how much money they spend on charity.
i could not give a shit if this was nike, apple, motorola, the gap or microsoft.
i DO care however when a corporate ceo/owner goes spending massive amounts of PRIVATE money on charity, as he can do this without the need to justify these expenses, like a company should. however, he can do this to have his ego inflated though! ;)
nothing is pure.
