i would not let my kids have too much gangsta rap crap anyway.
and if they would enjoy it, at least i'd talk to them about it.
moderation.

so here we come to a conclusion, kids with violent media (music games etc) in their hands need proper parental guidance.
that is more essential. i have to admit.
but still..
how do we control the people that go insane or are just plain retarded?
- ********0
how would you apply moderation on them as a government?

pavlov, I think your theory about copycat school shooting is somewhat true, since a lot of the shooters admire murderers or something similar. The shooter from Montreal's Dawson College loved a game called 'Super Columbine Massacre', which involves the player going around and shooting students in the school.
At the same time I'm against blaming a videogame. There are tons of other underlying issues all of these shooters have and the videogames probably add more to that anger/sickness.

Also, I think the trend of men going and shooting women in schools is disturbing...

(Oct 2 06, 15:34)i think any violence against women is sik and disturbing. and i have a deeply rooted aversion against hurting women physically.
it is seriously wrong on all levels.
- Jaline0
I completely agree. I just haven't heard of a woman going into a school and targeting men...
I'm not sure I've heard of a woman even shooting random people in a school...

"He told the boys to leave, along with a pregnant woman and three women who had young infants with them.
He then tied up the girls and barricaded the doors with large pieces of wood.
Seven people were found injured, at least three of whom were shot in the head. "
HOLY SHIT.

// the great thing about guns is that you can easily escape punishment/responsibility for your crime as it is the fastest instant tool for suicide as well.
i wonder what the guy would do if he had only a knife and tried to kill himself with it while a swat team is ready to enter the room within seconds..
fuck guns.

------------------------------c'mon Jal. that's solely the news ackward imprint, not a trend...
criminally speaking, abusing women is mainstream worldwide, not the wack-shooter exception.

on a second thought... do you think the whole as a world of men? I'm really curious. Not being a cinic here. just curiosity. I thought our societies we're past that.
- Jaline0
If you think society is passed that you're kidding yourself. There have been 3 waves of feminism so far and they certainly occur in waves. There is a downtime right now, but it's going to erupt soon...
And Witt, I'm just talking about the 2 examples that have happened in the past month (in the USA) plus a few others that have happened here in Canada in the past. Resentment is what fuels them, primarily.
Obviously, any school shooting is wrong. I'm just saying that people need to stop holding grudges and deal with it. Get help if you need it.
- Jaline0
Another thing...guns creep me out. Of course people with guns should be educated first, but how many people actually are?
- Jaline0
Witt, I'm also talking about the man/woman thing because I've been taking many political and social courses that have to do with women and gender for 3 years now, so I may be a bit into that stuff at the moment ;)

but still, women will remain women. they are different in the sense of looking at life. women fill in, give things a place, care. men look for direction, even with force; hence aggression.
it is unnatural to use brutal force against women.
