this is extra horrible as it took hours for the amish families to hear of the news and arrive as they were all in horse drawn carts. fuck.
can you imagine?!? you hear that some kids at your childs school were killed and you have to drive/cart 4 hours to the place to get the news... 4 hours thinking about it as you drive to the school.
no way. i'd go insane waiting that long.

--------------------------------i think you're right but looking from the other side of the mirror. that "ostracism" is cultivated; it breeds in underground culture, affecting people in many variables (like, personality, background, etc) and sometimes surfaces with horrible consequences.
it's a problem big open societies must face soon. there's something's going in those places where the surplus of information given raw and not mediated by the community.

(Oct 2 06, 14:15)i don't know about canada. we had school shootings in europe as well. but not as much and frequent as in the US. a lot of people these days are severely fucked up in the head and should be kept away from guns. so yes, right now is again the time to not be cowardous and stand up and speak out against the retarded idea of letting people own lethal weapons of this kind.

...and they're literally floating around this country. (i live in a mid-size city, and could get semi automatic handguns my first year of high school.)

Crouwel, everybody can get guns. Legally or not. I can buy a 8mm pistol for €400 (bullets included) tomorrow if I want to settle a score with my pre-school mates.
That's not the issue. Having guns legally wouldn't make me an easier shooter. I think some other input is involved.

as for the acquisition of illegal guns, sure, you can do anywhere in the world. but these guns have to originate from somewhere as well. and regarding the ubertight anti-terror measures in the US, i'd get the idea it'd be hard to import as many guns for the US illegal market.
