Lonelygirl15: the endgame

The jig appears up for Lonelygirl15, the super-popular YouTube auteur who sparked Web-wide controversy about whether she was a) a wildly talented teenager with a Webcam and an editing-genius friend; b) a Satanist; c) a plot by YouTube and/or MySpace and/or Google to promote their services and/or further world domination (don’t ask, a law student came up with it); or d) the birth of a new interactive art form. It appears that d) is winning out. Last night, the producers of Lonelygirl’s Web site posted a reveal (the site seems to be running slowly, but suffice it to say, the whole thing seems to be a project by independent filmmakers - http://www.lonelygirl15.com/foru…) to the many diehard fans on the site’s 15 forums—fans who are seriously dedicated sleuths, believe me, posting at all hours of the day and night, setting Web stings to find the source of the videos. It will be interesting to see whether people will still care about the story line, which appears heading toward an ominous religious ceremony or a party where Bree gets Occultist-style revenge on those who made fun of her. The producers hope the multifaceted use of videos, blogs and community give rise to a new type of Web entertainment, which is sorely needed, as early efforts—Desperate Housewives on your computer!—look a lot like TV with poorer quality on a smaller screen.
Say it ain't so!

my favorite episode is when she, much to the charin of her strict parents, snuck in those 6 guys from the Detroit Pistons and they had turns boinking her. Yowzaaa!!! and then when the waterboy came in... damn!!!
- skelly0
obviously it was fake, but i was really interested to see what it would turn out to be.
just like that "perpetual motion" free engergy thing. anything happen with that yet?
- exador10
i actually looked up that perpetual motion free energy thing again this morning to see if there was any news ...
apparently its the last day to sign up as a scientific observer for it...
so...we'll see...i think it's going to be more of the same...a big hype push that results in nothing more than hype generation...

"where Bree gets Occultist-style revenge on those who made fun of her."
If that is the case, it means that the people behind this don't knwo fuck all about Aleister Crowley, magick, Thelema, or any of the reality behind old stories and stereotypes.

(Sep 8 06, 11:08)i can kind of see that with the lonelygirl thing, because at least it was entertainment (to those youtube doods).
but this whole website and hype about free energy, i can't imagine it being about nothing.

I'd pipe.

yeah, ok...the lonelygirl15 thing, obviously its a staged thing...and all the hype its gathered, well..thats part of the entertainment..so thats ok..
as for the free energy thing..half of me wants to believe that 'hey..maybe its real..maybe these dudes have found a energy miracle that will change the world'..
then i think...uh....most of the natural laws of physics are probably against it...then again..who the fuck knows..
there's always the urban legend of how Tesla was on to some kind of free energy thing, and could basically turn on a lightbulb using nothing but the 'power of the earth' or some such shit....his financial backers decided that 'free' anything was unlikely to make them any money, so they nixed that one...anyhow, if it's real, huzzah..
if not....well....back to reality i guess

I think Lonelygirl is much cuter than free engery.
- skelly0
maybe it's possible, maybe it's not, but i saw pics of that thing and it looked like a high school science project.
i really doubt the biggest scientific breakthrough ever consists of a few metal rods and various gears....
