So far, on issues of science and history, the evidence has been in support of my metaphysical beliefs.

Like the metaphysical belief that Earth is the oldest planet in the universe? That's a rich one.
- unfittoprint0
it's only a 'debate' in the US.
mostly a fact everywhere else.
'godless' everwyhere else.

**Waits for links to Christian "science" websites.

can i just say something about this impending religious battle?
these discussions of religion and politics consist largely of people expressing strongly held personal beliefs about things that can't be proven. (sorry). supposedly in the interest of agreeing on the best way to do something important (whether it's attaining eternal peaceg or governing effectively). and, they rarely result in anyone involved changing his or her point of view.
besides wasting time, these arguements create tension and erode respect among other members of this site.
so please. before this gets started. stop.
carry on about global warming though. //good times.

Mimio: only a misinterpretation of Genesis would lead somebody to believe that the Earth is the oldest planet. And then there's the issue of upper and lower register time with the non-linear nature of the upper register and our flawed little human understanding of it.

k0na you always say that but you know it's never going to stop.
unfortunately.

are you trying to say that earth wasn't formed in 7 days?!?!
- kyl30
I'd say the evidence is stronger for global warming than, say, WMDs in iraq.

(Jul 7 06, 07:37)i was shaking my fist this time though.
just forgot to mention it.
:)

I'm just curious - did all of you guys believe in the big global cooling theat during the 70s?

Garett, are you "Pro-Pollution"?
I just dont understand what you possibly have to gain by not reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
- Mimio0
Discipler, it clearly claims that the "day" after the earth was created God made the heavens (stars, sun etc.). Where's the room for interpretation? It's a sequence of events thats either true or not true.
- kyl30
I'm pro-gas
- mrdobolina0
Whether global warming is due to emissions or not should be irrelevent. Do you want the entire planet to look like Gary, Indiana?

(Jul 7 06, 07:44)Explain your reasoning on why you came to the conclusion that I must be a polluter because I brought up the discussion about the reduced number of hurricanes this year in comparisson to this time last year?
Either way... way to jump to that moronic conclusion. CSI is calling you for a job interview man.
- mrdobolina0
So how about a big round of gfy's to the global warming conspicatists who thought it was affecting the weather.
haha. So funny. Choke on it.
garett_west
(Jul 7 06, 06:38)What are people supposed to think when you say moronic shit like the above?
- kyl30
garrett, did you really think people would juimp on the 'it's not our fault' bandwagon with you just because there were less storms this year. that's a very simplistic conclusion based on very little data.
