you've got to think in terms of "geologic time" for this one garrett and talk to armers, sherpas/mountain folk/geologists who watch alices and glacier activity, fluctuating of migratory critters, etc. to get a true big picture ... it isn't a question of whether its happening, or if the earth will be fine ( it always adapts ) - its a question of how fast, and will ecosystems be able to adapt, and humans adapt

What do you have to gain by not giving a shit about carbon emissions? What do you think should be done about it?
Why do you hate anything you deem "liberal"?

Hello versa. If you go back and re-read the thread topic it was about global warming effecting the number of hurricanes per year. As that thread topic was a hot item around here last year.

(Jul 7 06, 08:27)You're just trying to start way too many battles for me to keep up.
You try and lead your 'victims' into a small dark corner and it never works. It's actually quite that of a snake what you do to lure your prey into a discussion.
Bug off little mosquito.
(how many spelling errors?)

nice dodge of the question you fucking coward.

i can't wait until i buy my next car. i'm hoping by then there are more flex fuel cars, hybrids and such on the market and they are more affordable cause i want one.
but for now i'll just have to keep driving my hummer like 99.9% of all other americans.
*chugs soda. throws can out office window still half full to help extra pollute the planet. farts. (methane) burps. (more methane). opens can of methane. smashes battery against wall.
ah... typical american actions on a friday afternoon... it don't get any better than this.

Kona, you bitch and complain about political/religious threads and then try to stir shit up in them. I don't get the logic?

(Jul 7 06, 08:32)I'm not going to answer your 'assumed' questions with no merit just because you think you finally got me figured out.
You're taking shots in the dark and quite frankly ain't hitting shit.
You answer those questions first then I will dolt.

Here's how your question asking should go Rick, as grown ups do it in real life.
Rick: I feel this way about so-and-so issue. (then explain it). How do you feel about it?
Me: (My feeling)
You on the other hand are a manipulative fuck when asking questions and try and lead your subject down the road you think you have you trap set on.
Fuck. That.
Grow up.

(Jul 7 06, 08:27)I have absolutely nothing to gain by not reducing emission levels. Niether do you, that is my point...
I think that automakers should be required to do more about gas mileage and hybrids etc. Currently they are only letting the market define what they do and not very well, hence all of the layoffs because they are still manufacturing 60% suv's when people are trying to buy gas at 3 bucks a gallon.
I don't hate liberal thinking, liberal thinkers are who gave black folks their freedom and they and woment the right to vote. Conservative thinkers thought it was completely cool to discriminate against black people. Do you think there are any democrats in the klan?
I believe I have answered all of my questions, now it is your turn.

--- Then why ask it as a question to try and lead me, why not just say your point? See what I mean? Hope so.I think that automakers should be required to do more about gas mileage and hybrids etc. Currently they are only letting the market define what they do and not very well, hence all of the layoffs because they are still manufacturing 60% suv's when people are trying to buy gas at 3 bucks a gallon.
--- Too bad I'm getting slammed with TV commercials every night about flex fuel cars and a cars gas mileage. How many flex fuel cars does GM have now? (7) How many hybrids does Honda have? (8). It's also a shame those cars are flying off the lots while the big trucks sit and rot. A buddy of mine who works at a Chrysler/Dodge dealer says they can't even GIVE away the large trucks and/or Magnums and HEMIs now. So you're facts are missguided as high gas prices ARE driving us to buy better fuel efficient cars AND thus make the car manufacturers build them.I don't hate liberal thinking, liberal thinkers are who gave black folks their freedom and they and woment the right to vote. Conservative thinkers thought it was completely cool to discriminate against black people. Do you think there are any democrats in the klan?
--- How they hell should I know if any Democrats are in the klan? You are for all I fucking know Rick. And I don't hate everything liberal either. Just your skewed way of thinking and treating others.

On the other side though, A responsible fuel tax, that paid for a replacement fuel infrastructure(electric, hydrogen, biodesiel etc.) would have been appropriate since the late 70's when Jimmy Carter suggested it. But non-market forces fought it tooth and nail.(Car makers, Oil producers, etc) Almost every federal fuel tax has been voted out, and yet they still subsidize the US and foreign oil industry.
