My girlfriend and I are talking about moving to the UK to live and work for some years, but we both want to avoid London.
Where would we be best off job wise outside London? (Both graphic designers)

Yeah its Preston, I live in Manchester and commute. It means I miss out on rush hour traffic, but all our clients are Manchester, London and Finland based. If your a web designer we're currently looking...

seriously avoid Glasgow - people are losing their jobs left right and centre and marketing totaly rules the roost (more so than elsewhere). If you're thinking of Scotland at all it has to be Edinburgh, they do Design better there...
