AS for Hitlers use of the sw/vastica: I think it had to do with his abuse of teh Aryan people (not Arayan ) who came into the Indus Valley in India around 3.5k years ago.

monkeyshine-
Although I feel somewhat that way myself, getting fired for marching in and pointing out how ignorant three of the company owners are in front of the office is not the way to do this. Had I been part of the discussion, this would be a different story.a

I meant the abuse and spin on the Aryans who came into India. I guess that wasn't so clear.
They had swastikas and overtook the people of India but preserved the culture as much as possible. Quite the contrary to H in Germany.

You don't have to be combative to prove a point. You can give someone the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are not a bad person. You could have walked in and said 'I couldn't help but overhear your conversation and find it interesting because did you know...etc...'. If you care about something get behind it.

you should take the rest of the week off and come in next monday witha little hitler mustache.

monkeyshine, perhaps you are right. However, I've been around these people long enough to experience for myself that they are not interested in anyone else's opinion. I feel pretty confident that I would now be driving home unemployed. A different battle for a different day.

just sounds a little gossipy to me and we're not talking about major powers here .. just people working in a company.
if they find a way to let him go .. or treat him poorly at work b/c of his views that is another issue.

so are you going to let this bother you all day or are you going to do something about it?
why don't you print out each, with a short description and put it in a manilla folder and leave it on his desk while he's out to lunch.

(Jan 30 06, 08:10)Maybe something along those lines. And I'd rather find a way to talk to the IT guy as a warning that he may get some unexpected shit from someone over this. Find a gentle way to let him know about things like "civil rights violation" and "workplace" descrimination.

sounds lame to me that you think just because the swastika symbolizes more than Hitler you need to show everyone how PC you are. that symbol is gross and no matter how much you try and say "it's original symbol means...blah" nobody cares and everyone knows. A new symbol would be a good idea since that one has been tainted. have some respect you fool.
Go design something and get lost. You're not special for having now learned about the swastika. We all know. i am sure they know this too. Nobody cares because it still symbolizes a million deaths to many people.

Speaking as a Zen Surrealist, dobs, the moustache makes the most sense.

Kill tally: Five to 15 million Congolese (the indigenous inhabitants of the Congo River basin).Of course, African lives don't mean as much.
