i'm filling it up with diesel.
that's 1 Euro a liter at the moment.i can fill my car up with 55 liters, so that's about 66 USD for 560 miles driving.

98 Octane (RON) which is the equivalent of 95 US octane. Less octane is cheaper but mine doesn't run on it.
Filled up in central Stockholm.

its truecost economics. its what gas should be. not only do the governments fulfill some of their social responsibilty, there is also an environmental imact for every gallon of gas you burn and it costs money to clean it up. in america it should be about $6-8/gallon if we factored in environmental impact.

(Oct 5 05, 12:27)The problem is none of tax money ever goes to where it should. I've read that a good percentage of the taxes on gas (in Europe) are used to fund public transportation. This, of course, makes no sense since I'm driving a car. Why the hell should that money be going to fund a bus or train? It would be better if the gasoline taxes were used on road improvements, or environmental cleanup as you mentioned. That way, someone who drives often would reap the most benefits, whilst negating their effect on the environment. On the flip side, if I don't drive much and don't use the roadways often, I would not be taxed nearly as much because I'm not purchasing those goods.
In theory taxes are healthy, but not when the money I spent on a new belt is being used to get inmate #1102 a new TV.

Anyone wanna buy a Hummer? I got one for sale...cheap...
By the way, the President of GM just said in an interview he predicts gas in the US to come back down to the $2 per gallon range in a little while. On a side note, in the past few months sales of Toyotas have risen noticeable in the US in response to fuel concerns of the car buying public.
* sniff. Smells like Nostalgia...
Looks like it's the 1970's all over again..woo-hoo! Detroit companies about to go down in flames and cheap little japanese cars everywhere!!!
