" So i doubt they'd happily sign on to some sort of federal registry. "
fuck'em then.
every other major industrialized nation has a national id. i belive the privacy advocates when comes to medical records and idenity theft.
otherwise and open society is an accountable society. fuck privacy, i got nothing to hide.

well i kinda agree...i don't see anything wrong with a national ID as long as EVERYONE gets one.
but this country is great for hiding in, try finding all the loonies in the hills to hand them their 3x5" laminate. and if you can't get em to everyone, it's a failure.

national id cards are just a fucking bad idea for the average joe.
the grocery store across the street from my crib will not let me get alcohol or cigs without showing ID. I show ID and no problem. If national ID's are instituted, how long do you think that it will take before they start having to scan my mandatory card. where does that data go? this current government is so corporate, I may oneday not be able to get insurance because I drink beer and smoke cigs. dont doubt it.

" ID thing will make less democrats (typically) vote "
I doubt it. It sure ass hell shut the righty tighty voter fraud jackass the hell up. ...most people dont vote once, you want me to believe we got significant ammounts of reat voters? 'lil too much fatty pill popping limbaugh for those cats.

John Conyers has been a thorn in the side of Republicans for years now on so many issues.
God bless that Man.

wasnt a bill passed in congress that lets the state id be linked up like a natoinal id anyway? ...like last winter? i dunno...

these are smart cards, pavlov, not the stupid ones we have now.

(Sep 20 05, 20:33)... now I DO agree with that. :) It's a total invasion that basically makes us each a piece of data to pick info out of in a database...
... THAT is horseshit. My biz iz my biz.... if you want to know my biz - I'll probably contact you with it.
If and when the ID thing moves to an abuse of information - I will probably go join the wack-jobs up in the hills.
:) I don't like the ID card because of the direction it will ineviatably lead... a lack of choice in sharing one's private matters... not that I have anything to hide either. *cough
but dobs... dude... c'mon... this isn't a racist tactic to disenfranchise black people/poor people from voting.

i dont think they should be "smart"
just hard to dupe with holramgrams and shit.
and fuck privacy. people get away with too much bullshit in this county beacuase nobodys watching.
example, no child left behind has a provision in it. any school getting fedral funds, must submit the name and address and phone of everyone one og thier students to militay recruiters.
thats real intrusion. not some privacy invasion jive. nobody cares what 99.999% of you do.

james baker doesnt get involved unless it is politically/money motivated, ponyboy.
this country has become so corporate owned in the past 5 years it is sick. doubt it and then think about what I say in five years when you have your national ID card. that data is fucking priceless.
- GreedoLives0
maybe i'm a bit jaded cause i've been toting my green card around for 15 years and the FBI hasn't busted my door down every time i puff a bit of cheeba.
- mrdobolina0

(Sep 20 05, 20:51)that wont happen in our lifetime. not with these bastids in office. and honestly I wouldnt want it to be legal. it would cost 300 a quo if it were legal with a tax stamp on it.
- mrdobolina0
well, anyway you look at it, national id cards are not a good idea. thats my take. believe what you want. that data isnt going to be used to make your life better.
- mrdobolina0
do you think that the bankruptcy bill helps anyone other than credit card companies and financial institutions?
- mrdobolina0
these are all leaps of faith that I am unwilling to take.
eminent domain is for the public good
bankruptcy reform is for the public good
national id cards is for the public good.
its all here to keep working class people getting fucked while the feudal lords get richer.
- GreedoLives0
you forgot the inheritance tax repeal.
and those jacked gas prices after katrina.
