There you go, spiral hit the nail on the head. Almost all of the major media in America is owned by 6 huge corporations...
Seems to me like as long as there are crazy right-wingers running the media, and crazy right-wingers all over america, all we are going to get is bush praising bullshit.
What really needs to happen, is every other country in the world needs to come together and let the hillbillies of middle-america know whats REALLY going on...because those hicks wont belive any Americans who think Bush is evil, they consider that TREASON!
Where the fuck is the rest of the world during this crazy BUSH fest? Didnt America help europe out of the whole hitler thing? Now, we REALLY need your help getting us outta the whole hitler 2.0 thing...
Please send help immediately.
Thank you.

this should be from a less biased source.
- k770
bias is a part of any news report. at least fox is straight forward and consistent about it. pay attention to a better news source, i guess.
"unbiased" or less-biased is a fallacy. there is always a bias.

you are right k77, they are "fair and balanced" and the "no-spin zone"

The real problem is that the word "liberal" doesn't mean anything anymore.
I mea nit's certainly not "Liberal" in the classical, Enlightenment, anti-fuedal, anti-aristiocracy menaing is it?
Is liberal someone who supports the social justice side of democratic theory? Is liberal somone that supports the welfare state?
Liberal a few years back menat supporting using the military to overthrow evil dictatorships and consequent nationbuilding - a definition that conservatives used on everyone from Wilson to Clinton.
Now Bush is doing it and somehow the EXACT same policy and action is seen as conservative and if you disagree with it, well you're a "liberal".
It's a meaningless term - as much as "left" and "right" are meaningless...

perhaps this is what I am saying. not, don't listen to the news. but question what is behind it. there is no doubt that the news has way too much entertainment tied up into it. which, is probably why I can stand listening to the nightly PBS news hour. It's mostly to the point, and they take their time on stories, getting opinion from all sides.

from the poll concerning National journalists...
"The national journalists tend to feel the press has been insufficiently critical of Bush. National journalists also are the more likely to describe themselves as personally liberal. "
- mrdobolina0
the press has been insufficiently critical of bush, that is just a fact.
do you remember when clinton was president? he was a drug dealer, liar and murderer all said by the republicans.
- Goozebump0

Not that this adds anything to the discussion, but...
The current state of "mainstream" journalism in the US is embarrassing across the board...
That being said... Rupert Murdoch sucks my balls.

planet01 - nice quote, but a few paragraphs down form the same source:
"But what does liberal mean to journalists? We would be reluctant to infer too much here. The survey includes just four questions probing journalists' political attitudes, yet the answers to these questions suggest journalists have in mind something other than a classic big government liberalism and something more along the lines of libertarianism. More journalists said they think it is more important for people to be free to pursue their goals without government interference than it is for government to ensure that no one is in need.
This libertarian strain is particularly strong among local journalists, who are also more likely to describe themselves as moderate."

lol nice anarchitect.

I'm still waiting for at least an offer to help from a European or rich Asian nation. We don't really need it, but the gesture would be nice. Right?
