I don't really have any more time to discuss this... however, here is plenty of info the the presence or lack of presence of a media bias...

this is the founder and president of the media research center, planet01.
here is a quote from Bozell:
"Saying Bill Moyers might have a 'slight liberal flavor' is like saying 200-proof alcohol is slightly intoxicating."
yeah, he aint biased at all.

The only legitimate source of news in the US media is The Daily Show...and that show is only on to MOCK the other news stations for having their heads stuck so far up their asses they're almost poking back up thru their necks.
Viva la ANYWHERE BUT AMERICA.

Remote Control Operation 101
lesson 1:
Most Remote Controls contain multiple buttons used for changing the channels. There is a channel up button, a channel down button, and even a numbered keypad used for entering the channel destination of your choice.
- mrdobolina0
some people are not aware that they are lying or biased though, durang, doesnt it matter to you?

Ah yes, freedom now means the ability fo rme to sit in my easy chair that I am paying off on my credit card and flip passed various carefully orchestrated "competing opinions" on my flat panel LCD TV to arrive at the Truth so that I may be an active citizen in the grand social experiment that is America today. Thanks, I'm not that cynical durang. I happen to think it's a worthwhile quest to question things and question authority wherever it may be, and you know, maybe be engaged in reality. Being offered a hundred choices and being told it's all "fair and balanced"
isn't freedomWhy is someone either considered a "looney" or a "liberal" or a "whacko" if we engage in a little old fashioned and very American action of calling someone on their own bullshit?
And Fox has a lot of Bullshit to be called on...

well put the tick! on further analysis u want to know the real reason why conservatives have so much pwoer? its simple, imagine a nice guy and an asshole trying ot get the same girl. any1 want to guess whos the girl gonna be attracted with, yep u got it the asshole. its the same thing with libs. and cons. libs are the "nice guys" the ones where u could talk to and they;ll listen and understand. consv. are the think first ask questions later, macho, im right and no one will change it, follow my lead or your a prick type of ppl. as humans jsut like any other species on earth most ppl want to be "led." the more poqwerful and self confident u are the more ppl will listen and jsut be awed. thats why consver. rule right now. but jsut like when nice guys get older they are the ones who usually end up with the girl becuase she finally realize what an idiot she has been.

- Scottizzle0
lol@gooz that shit was fun to read.
Tell me, what's so conservative about killing people?
- Goozebump0
im jsut talking in general sctozz. alot of ppla re conserv. becuase they see this guy or group talking with so much aself-confidence which ill admit libs. cant portray as much as consc. those ae the ppl who dont ask ques. until its to late or affects them *directly* they;ll jsut say "man this guy has strong "character" he must be right. while a lib. will think about what the guy is saying and judege him by his words not by his percieved morals or aura.

Just finished reading the discussion, and in regards to the media:
In some ways I think this discussion misses the forest for the trees.
What's been discussed is whether or not the reporter, or media outlet has an agenda.
What I say (well more what I've read and believe about media theory) is that the whole structure of American (and other corporate media) causes biased reporting.
Basically if the media is corporate it boils down to this:
the MEDIA (in corporate form)
is selling VIEWERS
to ADVERTISERSthe whole premise of this system influences that for media to survive and compete with other media, they have to show what SELLS. Not what's news worthy.
And really a Hurricane distaster, a car chase, Cops with guns are going to sell more than a balanced political debate about a war.

Back to the actual poll though...
Do you doubt this?

--------------------
Not enough information honestly form that - who was polled? Journalists? Editors? Media Owners?Journalists as more liberal? Sure. Probably. But do they set the agenda at where they report. Nope. Owners do.
Got a poll on the political bias of corporate owners? I bet that would look far different.
that's like doing a poll of a particular industry and it'll say "88% of this industry supports unions! Therefore it must be liberal!"
Ah, well, what if 90% of the owners of that industry engage in Union busting activities - is the industry liberal even if the majority of the workers want a union?
While they are useful, polls can lie. They're a tool to be used warily.
- planet010
hmmm...
I would imagine this poll was concerned more with National Media - not small town local media.
