I think it is kinda funny when people bitch about gas prices.
it is a small sympton of a very much larger issue.

I'd have to wake up at 3 am to get to work on foot.
Still use gas to carpool and/or use the bus
Stilll need gas to use a scooter or moped

canuck has a point with inflation plus higher fuel cost alot of stuff are gonna go up in price noticably. ps. did u see all the profits that exxonmobile shell, amoco and the rest of them are reporting. up 48% 30 something percent from last year. they are reeling inthe dough.

we need to end our dependency on that shit. we need to stop using tonnes of petrol to ship old fruit over from chile just because we can't learn to eat seasonally. we need to use smarter materials and technologies which we ALREADY have. christ, etcetera, i'm stopping now.

I'm going to guess that the woman on the bus "shut thier mouths" because your rant may have frightened them. It's hot out, maybe profuse sweating mixed with irrational throught set off a silent alarm that said "keep quiet and he wont stalk / hurt you".
But anyway, you can't quantify a substance by the amount, ie. it's comparing apples to oranges. You have to look at these things as servings. A tank of gas is one serving just like a cup of coffee is one serving. A full gas tank as a serving is beging to swell in price beyond the means of people. As a serving, a tank of fuel is expensive. There arent many other things that you buy a serving of so often that are that expensive. Unless you have a coke habit that finds you buying a 8 ball every couple of days, gas if probably the most expensive product per serving that you consume on a regular basis.

even with inflation isn't gas lower than it was back in the 70s when there was a shortage?
also. i would really like to see off road suvs actually go offroad. it's bullshit that driving around a major city people think they need an off road vehicle.

i drive a diesel car, gets 46+ miles to the gallon. diesel is expensive but i feel better about using about 1/2 the amount of fuel that most cars take.
someday i want to convert to biodiesel, it's just impossible to find a station that carries it where i live.
