so basically discipler, everything I learned in physical science class is flawed?

Along the same line of staggering improbabilty, how did one man fit 3.6 animals in one boat for forty days?
- kld0
don't miind me, I'm just stirring the ish
- ukit0
And I'm sure some nutcase somewhere has a webpage saying how it's possible, But that doesn't make it either probable or possible.

So if the world is only 6,000 years old, does that mean that primitive early life, dinosaurs and wooly mammoths all co-existed? Or did they each live for only a couple thousand years each? I'm just wondering how you compress time on such a massive scale like that and still take into account actual physical evidence from the fossil record.

Key phrase there: "science that confirms the Bible’s account of history."
All other science not available for rational consideration at this time.

i guess 'carbon dating' is just another hoax.
cosmo
(Aug 10 05, 10:57)carbon dating isn't exact and it only goes back so far. You mean Potassium-Argon dating.
K-Ar

mrdobolina
(Aug 10 05, 11:03)actually, and I'm not supporting discipler, just think he has some valid points, yes it is flawed, because it's taught in a way that makes one think it's absolute, when in reality it's relative. there's no such thing as an exact science.
- cosmo0
I don't remember anything about K-Ar dating jaz. u got any links?
sorry, carbon-14 dating goes about upto 50,000. Not really sure how accurate that is, but i've read about it before.

cosmo, Radio-Carbon dating is used for objects that contain Carbon, hence the name. Potassium-Argon dating is used to date extremly old minerals such as the Pre-Cambrian Shield that exists in certain areas of the world. Whatever rock types, such as igneous granitoids, etc, that contain the consituent minerals such as Potassium and Argon.
One of the most interesting things about so-called 'absolute dating' is at the Mid-Oceanic Ridges. The oldest ridges left due to subduction, are Jurassic in age. That relatively young in terms of the Geologic Time Scale. Date it soon or lose it forever. I think they lose something like 1 cm per year. Doesn't sound like much but it is to scientists.

So we have an Ape to Man to Clone both and back to the start..
do you think we are on some big devolution spiral?
ending up at where we started - not an Ape but just as dumb?

Radio-Carbon dating is used heavily in anthropologic studies. It's useless to Evolutionary Geologists.
