Well basically woever started with my cousin saw him as a threat, being a body builder stomping on his home ground.

How do your logos convey "contemporary art / emerging artists"?

I can't be arsed reading through 83 responses now but I really like logo no 3.
With a name like Point 101 and bearing in mind the target market, I don't really think the logo itself has to convey any message.
If you try to be too clever with logos they can date and become tedious very quickly. The beauty of no 3 is its simplicity.
Good stuff and remember - go for no 3 ;)

Just thought I'd bolster my support for logo 3 (as is, no modifications). It's simple, clearly says Point 101, can reduce down to very small sizes, works in mono/colour/whiteout, won't date as quickly as the pixel-font inspired no 2 or the broken script of no 1.
It's a winner!
BTW I like the type choice for .101, pretty nice - what is it? Trade Gothic?

I'm always confused with the bold variants of Trade Gothic though - why is 'Bold 2' the true bold and not just 'Bold'?

Soler was all too eager to slate the original concepts that I put up so I think it's only fair that everyone gives their honest opinion on his designs.
I really wanted to like the stuff he sent me - I've already paid a deposit so it's in my interest to want to like them. I just don't think they are good at all.
There is simply not a concensus that they are good logos either.

bummer you don't like 'em codfather.
They're mos def a lot better than where you were.I think it would have been better if you had done a before / after page: showing the one you liked vs. my 3. Also I wouldn't have called me out either but I don't really mind man.
However, I think it's premature to say that there isn't a concensus. It seems only a couple didn't liek it. A lot of people had said that #3 is a winner.

Codfather - I don't know what you expect for the money you paid but no 3 does the job very well.
Where did the name Point 101 come from and what does it refer to? If it's a made-up term then you can't expect a high degree of 'cleverness', especially not in the 2 hours or so you paid Soler to do all 3 concepts.

I kinda like some of the old logos that were done for your website but Inus one is the best of the bunch I would say.
of Solers I think they are all pretty weak concepts in the first place and just look rushed -
because $200 is about £125?For me that is at least 5 hours work - I'm sure most logo designers would come up with something alot better than that in 5 hours...sorry just my opinion.
