Afternoon,
I hired Soler to re-design my website logo and have recently been sent a jpg with three designs. One of the original conditions for Soler to receive full payment was that there was a general concensus on NT that they were good logos.
I was really looking forward to the designs but personally I'm rather disappointed with all of them.
I would, however, appreciate peoples feedback - thankyou!

I think they are a bit shit - I also think its a bit wide naming the designer in public. Thats like your boss giving you a bollocking in front of the whole office.

I'm sorry but that was the deal - a critique of his work on NT and he agreed. I already paid a deposit of $50 bucks...
The only one that I vaguely like is the last one, but for me it doesn't have the depth or cleverness (for want of a better word) that I would like.

Ahhh. Its a $100 logo. In that case, the last one is pretty good. Your paying for a little over 2 hours work. Thats what your going to get,

I would be prepared to pay more but Soler said he'd do it for $130 and I said no lets make it $200.
Anyway, money aside I'm not blown away by them. I was looking at http://www.logoworks.com/ and they seem pretty reasonable.

actually I just had quite a good idea - maybe I'll knock it up in paint shop pro and get it slated on NT all over again! Whoopee!

i actually kinda like the logo that's there at the moment. am i an idiot? it reminds me of designey retro furniture shops, clockwork orange stylee.
and i LOVE this photo of westbourne park (1972)

the "match wall colour" feature is a great idea, but please tell me the colours were picked by a programmer type rather than a designer, cos the actual colours are pretty awful! Maybe you could get sponsorship from Duluxe or something by creating an app that shows their colours?

Although personaly i prefer the ones with a bit of shape.

Thanks for the positive comment (think thats the first I've had here). Yeah that photo is taken by the same person that took the Evel Knievel photo on the homepage - she is really very good.
Know what you mean about the match wall colour - someone else mentioned this as well, not the sort of colours you'd have in your living room! :P
