Maybe they were praying to the wrong person... they didn't give much info on what denominations/sects etc on the religions. Christianity covers a wide range of beliefs these days..
If you read the bible, christ gave his followers permission to use his name to heal the sick and raise the dead.. it's a matter of faith..
My beliefs.

*god emerges from his house early of a wednesday morn in his boxers with his magesterial mane suffering a bit of bedhead, gives his baws a scratch, bends over to pick up the paper and then peers into the mailbox.
'hmmm... petitions for salvation, a memo from gabriel, another canonization... what do we have here?... oh, a number of prayers for a little boy with leukemia in king's college hospital children's icu... oops! damn, this one's addressed to osiris! oh, well, haha.
*chucks prayers into recycling bin

HAaaahahaaaaaa
does god have a postcode?
- paraselene0
he must do. those things are confusing. prolly why all the prayers are being misdirected.
- dijitaq0
does he get spam too??
- paraselene0
brilliant, diji! that's the answer - he's got his norton filter set to high and all the prayers are in his junkmail folder.

"The contribution that hope and belief make to a personal understanding of illness cannot be dismissed so lightly"
Shame on you guys!
;)

Yeah this does seem to be a waste of money but I think relgion needs to be questioned more. I don't like the way its seems to be taboo subject. i.e the play set in a sikh temple.

(Jul 15 05, 04:09)Hope is human nature - it's got nothing to do with God.

(Jul 15 05, 04:11)True Moth,
Relgion has some good points but we should be able to think for our selves

(Jul 15 05, 04:11)i could be wrong but Christianity seems to allow for a lot of half-measures. Most other religions seem quite serious in comparison.
Maybe one day they'll stop caring like so many of us have.

(Jul 15 05, 04:15)Can we just get back to the idea of god getting flyers for the new pizza man thats opened round the corner.
Ha ha, what a brilliant thought.

I feel if religion in whatever form helps someone through a difficult period in their life and it works for them, then that's great.
It's not for me though.
