where do you live and do you like it?
i am making plans to move down this fall or winter.
i'm thinking of chelsea...
brooklyn seems nice but i'll be doing a reverse commute and bklyn is just too far. maybe when i move to a new job [ in the city ] i'll move.anyway just wanted to get some feedback, for living in nyc, where do you like and why?

Lived in Astoria, (LIC) Queens - 2 years, was ok but sick of the commute
Upper East S - ~1.5 years, much better, but expensive as hell I was paying near 1.4K per month.
Might move back in the next ten years, but only if I have a rocking gig.

i am in gramarcy park area. i like it better than east village.
if you need to do reverse commute then stay out of manhattan. driving in and out of the city sucks.

i have lived in every bourough cept bronx, manhattan is the best, but tiny apartments and heavy rental fees, brooklyn is very terrortorial and can get annoying with all them hipsters, queens is probably the best as far as overall price and size of an apt.
i currently live in astoria queens. my neighboorhood is probably the most culturely diverse and may be even more diverse of ethnisities than manhattan. restaurants everywhere and lots of paarks and everything you need. subway on weekends are always a hassle thruout the entire city, dont get a car!! as far as salaries go, try to land a gig that will pay between $50k- $150k so you can survive on your own, or get many roomates.

i have 3 too!
not 3 walk in closets though. i wish i have a walk in closet...
i like gramarcy because it's just a little more cleaner and less smelly. it's close to Union sq and everything around. i've had my share of partying so i am living a bit away from the scene.
