My colleague has just taken a call from a client requesting to "touch base" - we all sat around wetting ourselves...
Do any of you guys have clients who talk in clichés and if so, give examples please.

touch base always sounds a bit like a gay in-crowd joke.
i would never use it.

I hate it when people say 'by the end of play'
I mean fuck off, I'm working not playing.

yes Rasko, "end of play" is a pet hate of mine too, particularly popular with evil marketeers, grrr :[

I went to an interactive conference the other week and made a point of noting down all the buzz words / phrases. Best ones were:
Tryvertising
Brandcasting
Latitudinal Segmentation
Emotising
Emoment
Digital Glasnost
Hockey Stick Growth Curve
Network View
Transactional SnackingAnd my favourite quote of the day was:
"In mobile today it really is all about communication" (Jessica Sandin - Informa Group)

(Jun 20 05, 06:48)I think that's why they are funny/infuriating - because they are (or have their origins in) marketing/business speak.
right now I am -
zerotasking: To do nothing or have nothing to do.

(Jun 20 05, 06:54)How much was she getting paid for sayin that?
- vespa0
Can we have a vanilla version of that?
If we look at it again from a Helicopter Perspective...
At the end of the day we've got to move forward, and if we want to hit our major milestones before end of play then we're going to have to prioritise our objectives, maybe dropping some nice-to-haves in order to create a win-win situation for all stakeholders.

Aren't these clicés called 'Buzzwords?"
I think that says it all...
Heres one:
yogurt cities: Cities with thriving "active cultures" -- museums, symphonies, opera, independent bookstores, etc. -- where baby boomers will choose to retire (instead of retirement communities).
Do you see what they did there boys and girls?
Lame, Lame, Lame!

- mrming0
vespa - If I known you were having an emoment I could have emotised at you - damn! Brand exposure opportunity missed.
