i've never really beiveved in the "you just know" magic.
that leads to people waiting to "just know" for the rest of their lives.Do you love and respect this woman enough to commit the rest of your life to her? That you wont just bail if things get tough?

I'd only met her for two hours, but by then I was already naming the kids we'd have. She left an impression on me more than any other girl i'd met. Two years on, we're due to marry next month.

RE: just knowingmogwai speaks the truth. Sometimes, you don't know, until the point you ask her and she says yes. If you both decide to commit to each other, no matter how many coffee grounds get thrown, no matter how you smell of cheap perfume, etc, then it will work. That's sorta an oversimplification, but that's how I knew -- we dated three years, but I knew I wanted to marry her one week into our relationship, simply because I was committed to her and her to me. It sounds unromantic, but it's true.
Are there things I don't like about her? Sure. But I'm committed, and I get over those things easily. There are so many more things to love her for.

ok I aint nuts then....I have known her since I was 12 and she was 7.....the age thing always kept us out of the same circles of friends..plus she had a bf for a long time so I never really got the chance to know her anyway..
then when the gap started to close a bit....she went off to college and ended up living there after college....I only saw her once a year during the holidays for like 6 years.....
she moved back from PA....and now she is single as well.....and it has been nonstop since...
and I hope I aint wrong but I feel like I know.....

we have dated for two years; lived together two years after that.... and then she had to go out of town for a few days... and then i missed her...
so i popped the ring a few weeks ago.

we knew very quickly. we were best friends and inseparable from the first day we met, and since we were both cautious we took the time to enjoy that friendship before letting it develop.
