It's down. Remember the rat that would follow your cursor and run in either direction and sniff links on the screen?

mr_snuggles why did you have to go there about the 2A comment?
*Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
- mr_snuggles0
I was kidding, kinda, I think 2A personify what I hate about web design, with all their whirring and zooming and clickety, clickety stuff. This is just my opinion, but nothing they did was very "sexy" usually just completely over-the-top. You know what, forget I said that shit, I don't want this thread turning into a 2A rant either way.
And nick you didn't kill the thread, I just got home...
- mr_snuggles0
Alright I guess I killed it with that stupid 2A comment, sorry..
* bangs head on desk, "I'm such a loser...such a loser...

LOL, no worries bro. I know where you're coming from. But I do agree with the point of bells and whistles for the sake of bells and whistles. It's like the mentality of white space is a bad thing. It really comes down to a lack of understanding and acceptance. That's the one thing that drives me up the wall.

Totally, it's my beef with "new media education" not to generalize, but a lot of the kids are running before they can crawl for the sake of getting somewhere faster, but completely missing the point along the way. I mean fuck, their shit is tight, and I can't imagine how much time it takes them to produce a site, it just isn't my schtick.
end rant.

i agree. honestly, you can teach anybody a few tricks without making them understand what it actually means.
there is always this trend of different design styles. either it's one pager or 2 advanced style, it's easy to see the influences and you can almost categorize them nicely.
the followers or pathmakers? that is the true question.

Not bad robbob. I like the simplicity and tightness but I think it lacks a bit of personality. Your work is pretty good though.

Glad to see this thread alive...
Rob- I really dig your print work... especially the volvo posters.... very slick and clean.
I can say the same thing about your site, slick and clean. The only issue I would have is that it lacks personality. It's almost a clinical execution... maybe it is the lack of a mark for yourself. I think you would benefit from a stronger logo/concept/defining mark(rather than your name in tightly kerned san serif).
imo... but looking at your client list says you're doing somethin right. so cheers, good work.
- tkmeister0
rob- i like the cleane simple execution but like others said, it maybe a little too simple. it almost reveals no design style of your own except your execution of your clients work. maybe that was what you wanted.
but i think someone with your client list and experience, you can have a little more fun with it.

Great thread guys!
My 2 cents.
In a way I like one-page-folios cause it's so easy to just view & scroll. In another way I don't. Cause I like to focus on just one project at the time and perhaps have some slides from the same project, and if there is other pieces above and below that steals some attention. And if you aim to get a job with your portfolio at an agency i'm sure they appreciate some kind of innovative portfolio that works well with the content in it and you're not just being lazy and put the cases in there from top to bottom.
One-page-folios are good if they're done well with a nice grid and good typography.
But I still think I prefer portfolios like this:
As simple as one-page-scrollers but this only show one case at the time.
Or maybe even as simple as this:

thanks fellas - will add personality as you suggest, but am also appealing to another market now as well as designers. the more business/marketing areas are the next step.

- d5ive0
I love it when you see someone do soemthing so radical, but appropriate and user-friendly. That it keeps me coming back again and again.
