When I was a kid Candyman freaked the hell outta me.... I couldn't sleep alone for like a week after sneeking into a theatre to see it. I was like 12 or somethin.
I also lost my mind over the first Dawn of the Dead when a friend brought over a shitty dubbed VHS when I was like 13 (the remake is weak tho).
28 Days Later is my favorite horror movie in a long time. So well done. The Ring was real scary tho.

When I was a kid Aliens had me sleepying in the fedal position under my bed in the corner of my room!
Now I think 28 Days later had me really freaked. Sixth Sense too. The scene where that vomiting kid. ugh! I still remember how he freakin scared the shite out of me.

have to be many of the Italian horror films like Zombie, Argento, American films like the Exorcist and even bad 70s UFO movies. What passes for 'horror' today is inept action/gore MTV editing disasters....shallow tricks for shallow audiences....

I loved The Ring. That is probably the scariest movie I've ever seen. For some stupid reason, "Signs" with Mel Gibson was really creepy, until the end anyway...
When I was a kid, whenever I watched a scary movie, I would have to watch Ghostbusters right after it just so I could sleep...

It wasn't a movie, but "V" that mini-series on tv scared the poop out of me when I was a kid. But when I look back at the images now, it doesn't look very scary.

there were parts in The Eye that scared me. like when she just gets her new eyes and she sees people thru her blurry vision.

i used to get that and star wars mixed up until i saw star wars again last year. i remember they ate rats and someone fell into a huge garbage room that had walls that closed together.
