What is the scariest movie you have ever seen?
Obvious choices are movies like "The Exorcist", "The Shining", "Gigli"...
but I want to hear some really obscure or forgotten movies that really scared the pants off of you...

Owning Mahowny

I know it's not a traditional horror movie but it actually scared the shit out of me from a fiscal point of view. Chilling.

lmao i was gonna say gigli too, is that movie funny to watch drunk?
i agree with kona in terms of that scene with the kid in the closet, or that scene in the others that made me jump.
as a kid though the scariest ish ever was watching the superman movie (the one where supes gets drunk and has richard pryor in it) and there's a chick that gets electrocuted in some chamber, and her hair gets all punky. godamn that scene haunts me.

i know what you're talking about, alien. i remember when there's that machine that made the lady into a robot . that scared me too.
house on haunted hill was scary for the first hour, then it got stupid. those fast moving things weren't there and that crazy doctor tat was walking around in the video monitors was no where to be seen later on.

when i was a kid, the amityville horror scared me bad. i saw it again for the first time for years about 6 months ago, and there were still some scary bits.
there is a film called, i think, lost weekend? or forgotten weekend? a couple go camping and they completely abuse nature, so nature takes revenge. scared the shit out of me.
and there was a film called don't go to sleep about a girl who goes mad and kills her family members. anyone seen that? kept me awake for weeks when i was a kid.
modern moments, for me it has to be the final-ish scene in blair witch where we see him standing in the corner and we know exactly why.
*shivers*
