i am a big fan of modern art but for the last few years I have to say I have got quite jaded by it generally.
What happened to the strength of the work standing on it's own? Making a personal connection with the viewer and the artist just by experiencing the work?
It seems nowadays you have to be in 'The Know' about the work or the artist to get it.

Kuz, I'm not shocked or disgusted.
Soda, everything can't be done in photoshop, sometimes the journey is as important as the destination.
I have a friend Carlee Fernandez who creates luggage out of animals.

Beautifully crafted.

Sod it.
I'm just happy whipping vespa.
In the pagan original of valentines day, they used to whip virgin girls with strips of pig skin to promote fertility.
How fitting for this topic.

I saw that! Brilliant! That's talent, and he's spent TIME doing it.Egghead... Bahha. I stared for hours until I realised it was a shot of someone taking a shit.

The Paul Noble exhibit was one of the best things I've seen in a long time.
I want posters of it. Or a 1:1 scale website of each image. I could look at them for hours.

He must be fairly nuts to start something like that.

did you see the tape they had of him in the reading room explaining his work? A real insight. Every single piece was of such breathtaking quality.
- moth0
reading room? No, didn't see that.
I didn't like the HUGE 1 so much, but the egg was amazing.. and the others in that room where you take your shoes off.

Didn't bother watching the tape. But I was really impressed by his work. I tend to enjoy artwork involving tedium as I'm a big fan of tedium myself and zoning out on creative projects that take weeks to finish. I get the feeling that he enjoys it as well.
I need to go back, but I wish I could have the work to hang on my wall. I just want to explore it without feeling the pressures of being in a gallery.

word to that normal.

I say F*CK her if she's doing that type of stuff. She's demented in a real way.

I think it's fuckin hideous, just a sicko taking the piss. We don't do this sort of shit to humans (if anybody did they would be locked up) so why animals.
Total lack of respect for the species. If somebody did the stuff that's she's doing to these animals to any of her deceased relations, she would have a fit.

oi moth make sure that pigskin is crispy, otherwise it makes a flaccid flapping sound that detracts somewhat from the artistic objective of raising my moral consciousness.

Yeah, I agree With Jazx. Fuck her for sure.
There is enough cruelty without it being for entertaniment purposes. As much as anyone wants to call it "art"... its still just dead animals.
- JazX0
I don't mind if they are already dead and you hang them on the wall and stuff or controlling populations by hunting, etc. But that's whacked
- rockthenroll0
fuck that. if she's killing them for the sake of this it's uneccessary + sick. artistic expression/statement my ass. i'm vegan though so of course i think this is fucked.

I say kill her, mutilate her, and then hang HER up in a gallery.

"I say kill her, mutilate her, and then hang HER up in a gallery."
And meet up at McDonalds afterwards?
