I agree, it's about rebelling against the norm, but then since the norm for christianity would be sunday morning praise/please rise/let us pray/please be seated/let us pray/all rise and the norm for punk would be anti-social issues and , why can't christian punk be 'punk'. it goes against both norms.
JazX:
christian bands don't make a butt-load of money. They're not mainstream/top 40/MTV. Those bands that have members that are christians(Evenescense, Switchfoot, 12 Stones, etc) are mainstream/top 40/MTV. christian bands are right up there with indie bands on the money level....they're not staying in 5 star hotels and living the highlife..they're living well, I'm sure...but not 80's Jim /tammy Fae Baker living well.

for some reason I actually went to the Tooth and Nail tour when it rolled thru town several months ago.
when the blithering spastic idiot from me without you started preaching about jesus i almost threw up - especially when teh crowd started praying with him
freaks.
brainwashed freaks.
I'll say this though - tooth and nail have the best website for a label ever.

In the long run, if you are invloved in/with X-tianity, especially churches, you are probably better off. It's cleaner living.

I see lots of the fish on bumpers.
Doesn't make anyone a Christian. That's western culture fluff. Jesus spoke of those who claimed his named, but who's "hearts are far from me..."

i was making a pretty big generalization,
just seems to be a lot of those types in the scene im exposed to around here.
anyone has the right to do whatever they want in music, just as i have the right to turn off my stereo.

there is a difference between a preachy band and a band that is made up of christians. you'll get a few that use music as a platform for faith based things and will preach and pray, but then there are bands that put out great lyrics and just are cool to see and listen too.If you want hard, i would recommend:
zao, demon hunter, or anything on http://www.facedownrecords.com

see, you guys can make fun of it, but to the people that would buy that record, a title like that wouldn't effect them
