positions? LOL "I don't know any positions, but I know a good window

There are heaps of female project managers here, they are fine.
I find they tend to have more patience than some of the dudes.
*flame me if you want but its true

Glancing over the mysogynistic neo-caveman comments....
Sometimes the best way to deal with project managers is to do exactly what they request. Sometimes reason and well thought out and rational emails or conversations just don't do the same justice as facing them with their own misinformed and ridiculous design decisions.
On occassion after round after round of changes to my initial mockup as their ideas get shot down one by one, I have gone so far as to submit the original design again for it to be accepted as "the perfect solution".
Sometimes people just want to change things for no reason besides to feel like they are doing something. It's best to let them go for it, as if you're billing by the day they end up paying for it. Fine by me.
Another technique is to do a near-perfect design and throw in a red herring. Something that the client focuses on immediately which gives them the satisfaction of changing something but is no loss to you because you put it there on purpose. Works like a charm every time.

Two comments and the conclusion:
1) to the person that said I sound a bit young... is 28 young? The girls that I am "working" for are 23 and 21 wit their heads up there asses if you read the whole thread
2) I did put in a red herring...and thats what they flipped out on. But they acted as if it couldn't be changed and who gave me the authority to put that in there and yadda... It was nuts...so here is the conclusion: the owners are taking me out to dinner tonight and they offered me a consulting position because they know they need me. They want me to train the NEW guy whoever that is. Yeah right. Like they are gonna find someone to do all this shit I do for what they pay.
Whatever. I have to write my own monster job posting description... hahaha hah...funny stuff...
I will show yall when I am done with it and btw...the chics are upset that I put the ball in my court before them cause I didnt get reprimanded or fired with cause and I am still getting out of here with a small side contract at least for a month or two...
All I know is that I had the last laugh...

women might feel they need to prove themselves a bit more since they generally don't get the same pay as men for the same exact job.

BULLFNSHIT SPUTNIK!!!
21 yr old asst was making 3 grand less then me as soon as she graduated from college. So all of a sudden she got a fat head.
24 yr old was making 5k more then me ....and she should ahve made more then that and so should have I.... but that wasnt the case...

at least people at your place will actually talk about salary.
i can't beat people's salaries out of them.
- jevad0
its not bullshit ken - it happens all teh time.....

for some people money is the ultimate taboo topic
- gabriel_pc0
so no one younger than you can make more money? especially not women younger than you?
just seems like a very bitter situation to me
- liquid0
jev... I know it happens all the time just not at this place... there are 160 women and 10 men...
to the last one about the bitterness.... and people younger making more.... people younger making more with no real skills in anything and no experience.... like I said the 24 yr old director deserved more then she was getting.... I know I deserved more but that wasnt the point...
ration proportion the 21 yr old was about right and me and the director were getting ripped....
they kept throwing in our faces where we worked... now they are flipping out and want me to make templates for the next year... and they keep saying can the girls do it...and I am like no not unless they learn illustrator and photoshop.... well why cant you just put it into a word thing...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
- -sputnik-0
the operative word would be "generally"
in 7 years of experience, i have found this to be true for myself and other work colleagues, designers or otherwise.
time magazine had an article last month about women being paid less for the same jobs in the white house...and not just during this administration.
- speed_d0
sbowlin, if you hate working with women so much, why have one as your Marketing Director? Seems a pretty important position for you to give to a woman based on your what you've said
