this is EXACTLY why I side with Chomsky in that there SHOULD be a draft rather than a voluntary paid military.
It's the only way the commoner can vote on whether we go to war. draft dodgers like Bush wouldn't be able to march to an unjust war because the people would have the power to simply skip out on serving.
as it is, we paid a grip of taz dollars to train you and pay you etc. I believe you are doing the right thing, but it is costing even more money now when it would make much more sense to just have had you skip out to begin with.

No matter what you do DirtyShit. I salute you. It is your right to do what you feel is right. And that is what we are trying give to iraq and its people. No matter if you think the war was right or not. Show some support for the men and women over there doing an incredible job in a very hostile environment. What been done is done. Lets help out anyway we can! I have nothing but respect for the military personel doing the actual work. I hope you take some of that with you if you go. And tell them all to keep up the great work. It won't go in vain!

i think that sucks...u havin to go whn u dont want to. continuing in war will NOT stop war. it will only prolong it. i was devastated to comeacross tht shitty stuff about the young american who was beheaded by the "jihadians". they did not do it in the name of jihad i can tell u THAT FOR SURE. I am a muslim and that f***kin loada bull is NOT the teachings of ISLAM. the so called juhadians have ruined it all for the other muslims in the our battle to seek peace n unite. in the days of the prophet, whn in war, old men, women and children are untouched but now, these idiots are on a tiot killing anything breathing and use it in the name of god. they have done this not with a noble cause but only for their own. i am not condemning my own religion but only those who are selfish enough to act out maliciously and irresponsibly say that the act was in the name of God. bloody well isnt.

all religion facillitates violence. it defines people as good or evil and when you define someone as evil, it makes it okay to kill them. christians do it to muslims and jews, jews against muslims muslims against jews etc.
the other part about it is, if "they" are evil then "you" are good and since these religions tell you good people go to heaven, dieing is not a problem and to die killing evil people is REALLY good.
what if people understood the fact that there really is no heaven? they would sure be a lot more interested in life.
