[enter sarcasm] and that'as reaaaaally the reason for this war [end sarcasm]
A recent poll found that iraqis actually think the situation is much worse than before Saddam.
oh, another thing. Elections aren't just the only way to stop a government of fucking up.
And as stated earlier: a patriot is a blind idiot. I just hope you don't have to wait 900 years to learn that.

in this dude's case 2031 lol

Saddam was put in power by the U.S govt to keep Iran in check.
The war is not gonna be justified at all because there was no way Iraq , as a country, could attack USA. lets thnk for a min that there were WMD's do you think they missiles that could have been launched and attack America WITHOUT the far superior defense system detecting and probably blowing it up somewhere in the atlantic ( probably over cuba, hehe).... The point is that this country was attacked not by a country but a few men with no "weapons". It was a new chapter in urban warfare. Since that people have been so paranoid and hellbent on spreading "democracy" to the "lesser" parts of the world.Do you really think that taking Saddam out is finally going to solve the problems and stop the hatred against US?? This war is a goldmine for crazy , unethical , power hungry fucks like Osama and his network to recruit poor uneducated kids living in the middle east.
I'll leave you with one simple example one of the things this war did was to bring together the Sunni's and Shiites in Iraq ( these guys are SWORN enemies) to fight the Americans.
Think about it.

slinky - here's a list of more criminals against humnity that u shud take out
-KING FAHD BIN 'ABDUL-'AZIZ
King of Saudi Arabia-Islam Karimov of Uzbekhistan
-GENERAL SANI ABACHA
President of Nigeria-SIR HASSANAL BOLKIAH
The Sultan of Brunei-RAOUL CEDRAS
General of Haiti (Raol Cedras seized power under US guidance in 1991, however he was deposed by the democraticlly elected Aristide - however, just a few weeks ago, the US again helped overthrow the democratically elected Aristide, and i reckon the dictator Cedras is on his way back, nice)- VINICIO CEREZO
President of Guatemala- GENERAL SAMUEL DOE
President of Liberia-HASSAN II

President of IndonesiaAnd there are many more. Not to mention that Saddam Hussein was himself aided and strengthened by the US before he threatened their oil supplies.
" Our real task... is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity [U.S. military- economic supremacy]... To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming... We should cease to talk about vague and...unreal objectives such as human rights, the raising of the living standards, and democratization... we are going to have to deal in straight power concepts. The less we are then hampered by idealistic slogans, the better."

"visit here and sound off to your fellow soldiers and tell them your afraid to go or you don't support them...
www.armyranger.com/bb"Give me a break...such BS rhetoric and it's so Rush Limbaugh to imply that being against this war is being against or not supporting the troops.
Also like the hypocrisy of you guys giving this guy sh!t when you're sitting safely on your a$$. So, what are you doing to support the troops?

I would still fuck Ann Coulter.

And I'd hope you and more people would realize, its not all about the oil, either, there is a cause.

"So, what are you doing to support the troops?"
They did their best: paid them with their taxmoney. The beauty of it is the US Army are paid professionals who have signed up to do their job. Although a lot of these soldiers are there because of the army's good marketing which braiwashes you with "patriotism" and other slogans since kindergarten, still, most of them did sign up voluntarily.

Found this in my search for more info. Looks like it may have just been a recruiting scam. Fluckin army.

dirtyShit and Krimzen:
what is your respective M.O.S. ?
I feel pretty bad for you as this is an unexpected change of scenery. Whatever course of action you choose make sure you are committed.
Consider: A shit ass attitude in a war zone will get you in deeper shit than you can imagine. The UCMJ is extremely UNFORGIVING and places like leavenworth fed penetentiary will be glad to provide you a home. Once you have signed up you have no rights.
Make your decision and screw your cap on. If you expect to all of a sudden claim 'CO-status' or 'I'm Gay' you are in for a rough ride. Whether you stay stateside and try and beat it, go on the run, ['hello aye'], or actually deploy you are looking at a life changer. Consider everything and then stick by your guns. Good luck fellas
- Krimzen0
Thanks for the advice tonx. As anyone who was actually in the military knows, you can't just say "I'm gay" or run off. It'll get you in more trouble than it's worth, and as you say they're very resentful and unforgiving about things like that if you lie(For good reason, I remember resenting all the bastards who tried to quit basic training with fake injuries, so I can relate).
Getting out was never an intention of mine anyway, if you look at my previous posts. As I said I just want to know what's going on.
See my previous post though, as it links to the story about how these recruiters have been trying to scam people to rejoin. Makes me so angry.
- Krimzen0
lol mimio, always entertaining when your'e at work and open things like that for all to see.
- dSynthesis0
I and my layman's knowledge of military service, war, etc. agrees with TONX. It would be a shame to see soldiers going off to battle half-cocked, only half wanting to be there. That is a sure fire recipe for getting killed.
As usual with any issue, there are two divergent sides of the story. Typical the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
A commitment to the military has been made (a commitment that I readily admit to not being up to the task of fulfilling myself). This is a serious thing and I'm grateful for those who can.
There is an opportunity to make a difference though. Regardless of what reasons you feel led to the war, there are people in Iraq who desperately need help. People who, despite all that they have been told about the US and our troops, still believe that they are now (and will be) better off. There is much good that can come out of being in Iraq. What an opportunity...
It is my hope that if you guys are called up that you WOULD serve with the goal of making a difference. Most Americans count on that...
...steps off soapbox
slips and falls.....OUCH!!

krimzen - i was not questioning you on your commitment, nor am I judging anyone. I just neede to comment that it is much harder to get out than wearing a lacey bra to the physical. Still wondering what you guys do. Type of unit and job. Please don't post actual guard unit.
I'm a lot older than most people in this forum. I've witnessed a court martial and it's result on a good friend. I would hate to see anyone here in a fed lock up.
Many occupations in the US army have little to do with combat. Hope that you are in a support position many, many, many kilometers away from the action
- Krimzen0
Oh I didn't really think you were.
Unfortunately my MOS is 21 Bravo Combat Engineer (used to be 12 bravo, just found out they changed it.) though I'm unsure exactly what I would be doing. Mine removal, possibly?
Anyway, have to run, been screwing around all day researching this and I haven't gotten much done for work.
