that's an awful nice gesture, but im sure my lovely girlfriend can front it. you know, another thing, this film is not only based on Mel Gibson's Vatican I Catholic Church cult beliefs but it also seems to have been read as a Homoerotic and S&M masterpiece, a Corporation unto itself to be sure, but also a thrifty enterprise for Mel "moneymakin" Gibson....

"this film is not only based on Mel Gibson's Vatican I Catholic Church cult beliefs"
...from someone who grew up in the ONLY tradionalist catholic church on LI, i can speak from experience...there is nothing 'cult' about it, thats from people who are quick to judge and uneducated about people who follow this. Until the mid-60's this is what every catholic followed, there was no such thing then as a mass the way it is today. So anyone who was raised in a catholic house, that means your parents and grandparents belonged to that, and i would think most people dont think of our parents as previous cult members-
main differences: mass in latin, no meat on any friday, following the mass the way it was followed for almost 2000 years, until the 1960's
and this is coming from a girl who doesnt even know what she believes in, but i do know firsthand what tradional catholics believe in

well, to be fair, what i meant was
ALL of Christianity is a cult...this just represents one disputed area of it.

cult 1: formal religious veneration: WORSHIP 2: a system of religious beliefs and ritual . . .5 a: a great devotion TO A PERSON, IDEA, or THING.
which part of that do you not understand?
- clarakent0
propaganda
1 capitalized : a congregation of the Roman curia having jurisdiction over missionary territories and related institutions
2 : the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
3 : ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause; also : a public action having such an effect

yes, indeed and what the filmmaker has achieved with this film is the pinnacle of current Roman spectacle.

thank you junetic....
like i said, i dont even know what i consider myself, but regardless i have to say, to be young and catholic feels like the world is against you. if people openly make fun of any other religion, race, gender, they are bashed as bigots. but people openly make fun of catholics like they are all closed minded, abortion doctor killing fanatics who all vote for bush, and in all honesty, thats just not the case! its a stereotype! most people like to believe in a higher power, and everyone chooses their own path. there are crazy people and fanatics on EVERY path!
