Thanks kuz. One thing I've noticed today and ever since I've been in this industry, is that most people consider it shameful or uncool to express their religious beliefs. I truly think the movie was whole-heartily produced. You get what you want out of it. That's life. If you portray it as a money maker, then so be it. Criticize it, go ahead. Be inspired by it, awesome. Religion, politics, design is all about you're own perspective. Just don't condemn others for what they see and what they believe.

Creatively crude, drake.

no, the age of 'history' has ended. there is no historical perspective now. If you watch Mel Gibson's anti-science project then you are partaking in his saliva.

Ideas, religious and otherwise, should be scrutinized. Its healthy for vehemence to exist on all sides of beliefs and philosophies. We'd still be in the dark ages without public discourse. Christian propaganda deserves all the criticism it gets.

crude shmude.

There's nothing wrong with cronstructive criticism, it's rude remarks aimed at others for what they stand for. People will only listen to you more when you have a heart-felt and knowledgeable remark.

ha. Typical. It wasn't discourse that brought us out of the dark ages - whatever the hell they were. To think, it must be like 3,000 year ago (at a guess) that the Greek philosophers (and the Chinese confucians) laid out their materialist teleology.

I guess its up to the individual to decide what's offensive and hateful Paul. Consider that most Christians believe that the people who disagree with them are doomed to an eternity of torture.

Now that's your perception. I agree, there are a lot of Christians and nonChristians who have the idea of , If You're Not With Me, Then You're Against Me. So be it. I don't have a beef with a person's ideas or beliefs, as long as the intentions are not to hurt others or force their ideas on them. We have too much of that kind of thinking in this world.

I realised recently, that some of the most inspirational people in my life have been deeply religious people. My university professor used to talk like he was some radical left-wing Marxist. And he used to preach about the innovations and brilliance of Islamic civilisations. I recently met up with him for a beer and found out he was a devout Roman Catholic. Which really surprised me. In my own experience, non-religious people seem to be less tolerant of relgious people than the other way round. I totally respect a person whose tries to make sense of this craaaazy world and arrived at a way of life to suite him/her without people trying to discredit them constantly through ignorance and blatant offence. I dont understand their need.

The thinking you speak of is encouraged within religious groups D5ive. In fact, its fair to say that world's major religions force the other and condem them in some way. I'm simply fighting these ideas because I can see how human history has demonstrated their harmfulness.

d5ive, you hit it on the nose. You have to respoect a person who's in the public eye and is not held back by what others may think, especially in a world where he could be ostricised by those same people as a result of the bad stigma that fudemental religous groups have created.
Did that make sense? let me give another example.
PROBOT Dave Groll's side project where he teamed up with old-school thrash and speed metal masters. One of the guys (the name escapes me) played with a band called Trouble which was/is a christian metal band. Heavy as hell. Anyway, Dave made a mention about how he admired a guy who was openly christian in a business that otherwise steered clear of people like that.
I, too, really have loved your work d5ive. Congrats on the new gig, btw.

It's common sense. Treat others the way you want to be treated. That's the main thing I want my children to fully understand.

It is possible to respect another's viewpoint and dialogue in a fruitful and intelligent manner, without taking a position of advocating a pluralist universalism or subjective "truth".
I think the core issue is self-education. Individuals should honestly research the claims of a belief system and form a conclusion of their own. Unfortunately, so many look to past examples of hypocricy and those who falsely profess something that their lives and behavior denied.
When i share my faith in Christ with someone else and explain how they can come to know the same living savior... I do so in a respectful and loving manner - at least I try to. This was the example that Christ gave. He loved people unto himself. And everyone who encountered him would have to make a decision about what they would do with him. He was polarizing. He still is today.
