I realised recently, that some of the most inspirational people in my life have been deeply religious people. My university professor used to talk like he was some radical left-wing Marxist. And he used to preach about the innovations and brilliance of Islamic civilisations. I recently met up with him for a beer and found out he was a devout Roman Catholic. Which really surprised me. In my own experience, non-religious people seem to be less tolerant of relgious people than the other way round. I totally respect a person whose tries to make sense of this craaaazy world and arrived at a way of life to suite him/her without people trying to discredit them constantly through ignorance and blatant offence. I dont understand their need.
