nah. santa monica is safe for me to walk around at night. my car has never been broken into.. lots of stuff to do in the area and im close to the beach. i grew up by the beach south of LA so its home to me.
different strokes for different folks machito. I'd say living in west LA or somewhereon the west side is much safer and cleaner tthan living cheap on the east side. los feliz, silverlake and pasadena are no longer cheap... most apartments dont have central air.. so during the summer id rather be close to the beach with fresher air and cooler weather than smoggy and sweaty inland anywhere. plus.. traffic sucks over there more.

hey you guys dont know what your missing. I love this place. I can drive to work and see some ho's with thongs out to the world trying to get me to buy the goods at 8 am... thats progress with a big fat LA inbetween.

LA fucking sucks. do not move here. I am trapped here for two years (educational reasons).
On the first plane back to NY when i am done.
I thought LA would be more interesting. all these magazines were profiling it, trying to fake like it had something going on.

compared to nyc, LA does blow. overrated. but also nice in that you can get a shit load of work done cause it is impossible to go out without, 1. getting stuck in traffic 2. finding a damn parking spot when you finally get somewhere. 3. repeat steps 1 and 2 if you are not having fun. yo, eli, hit me, i did some stuff for you a long time ago at aexibita.

Not to be negative. there is a ton of great things bout LA but they are not what makes other big cities like ny, chi or so great.
