Im not too crazy about LA, however I do have fun here, AND you can get your hands on just about any sort of material you could need. Im in Eagle Rock and this area is pretty great. Good dive bars, good food, good rent; close to Pasadena, close to downtown, easy to get out of town...

I recommend to anyone to live in LA for a few years, ejoy life, get a tan, party hard... after that leave and take with you a million fun stories then you can go back to whever you came from where it's real again.

anyone from NYC who comes to LA hates it here. i think there is a 1:2 move back ratio. i really really really really miss NYC. If you can move the weather to NY, i would move back in a split second.

I'm Pasadena style. Live across the street from the first Frank Lloyd Wright concrete house. There's everything in SoCal if you just get off your ass and check it. LA-hatas just can't handle the hustle. Go back to snowtown and don't let the door hit you on your ass on the way out. : )
I'm just funnin' --- love ya NYC.

Please dont come to LA.
We have enough imports ruining the LA image.
Come visit, buy a Von Dutch hat and a melrose heavy metal belt and take it home. Theyll think youre "LA" cool and youll get laid and shit.

Arggh, I can’t imagine living anywhere cold. I am from Tampa, which is a story all to its own, and I am counting the days until me and the wife hit California. Either that or moving somewhere else warm, that actually has a decent design market. The thing with So. Cal is that its warm, there’s a TON of stuff to do, and everything is there, culture, music, materials, etc. I was amazed the last time I visited at how much I knew about the town as a visitor compared to the people that lived there. Its not for everyone, but then again, getting on a subway and being surrounded by buildings all day is foreign to me, like getting in a car and then sitting through traffic is foreign to people that live in the city. Just different vibes.

If I were forced to live in LA, I'd live in Silverlake. I have lots of friends there and they seem to really enjoy

i lived in malibu for three years and then i moved to brentwood and west La for another three...very different places indeed but for some reason i liked them all..actually west La is a very nice place to live if you don't want to spend too much for rent and still you live close to everything....my favorite place? Nuart theatre and the brazilian coffe place around the corner...i've been told it doesnt exist anymore though...sigh!
