if you're gonna live in the los angeles area live in the south bay (manhattan beach, hermosa beach, or redondo beach.. close to the water) that is, if you can afford it. those are some of the best areas for young people. the beach breeze takes care of some of the smog too. i live in redondo but am probably moving to venice beach shortly. actually maybe i wont if i my yearly review coming up yields a hefty raise. i guess just try to stay near the water. the bad areas are in the poorer areas, obviously

illegal employment, gangs, Arnie, forest fires, highest bank robberies per capita, fake boobs, hollywood strip after dark, shemales, Paulie Shore, electrical companies, producers, freeways....

LA is great. Traffic, yes. Smog, yes. Porn, yes. You ever wonder why EVERYONE moves to LA and not to Portland or Milwaukee or San Antonio? There are a lot of cool things happening here and a lot of cool people making things happen. Plus, the weather kicks ass and the women are beautiful.

LA is the ugliest city i have ever seen & been too. (i live 30mins south from LA).Santa Monica is nice tho..

I watched a show on the Discovery channel that said how the entire east coast WILL be taken out by a huge tital wave caused by an island that is collapsing in the atlantic. they said it's not an issue of "might"... it will. they said it could be tomorrow, or 50 years, but it's definatley in the very near future.
