Interesting. A train is stalled on the tracks about 300ft away from my house. In about 45min an Amtrak is due to blow thru here. While i know nothing is probably going to happen, the potential for calamity is certainly intriguing.

What about lying a bird down on a tea towel, wrapping it up and then rolling it gently with your hands on a hard surface back and forth. Not enough to harm the poor creature in any way, but just enough to make it think "really, what the fuck is going on now?" and possibly to influence evolution in a small way as a result.

I had a meeting around 8:30 AM. Got there right at 8:25 PM, was stuck on the 10th floor because you have to have a special access card for certain floors (confidential government info, blah blah). I have a general one, and didn't try it out. Phoned at least 10 people. No one seems to start work before 9 AM. I snuck in behind another employee who was using their card to access the floor and followed the voices of my co-workers, who were already having the meeting. They were in the middle of discussing CMS and databases, and luckily it was all stuff I understood. After the meeting, my other two co-workers told me that our access card works for that floor. Arrgggh
No one seemed to care too much though, *phew*
Probably because I'm not supposed to work on Fridays, but decided to come in because my other co-workers weren't free any other time this week.
