In my opinion XTR is a waste of money. XT is the same performance as XTR without the fancy finish. Some advice is to not play the weight game either, the only thing that really matters is the weight of your wheelset(rotating weight). Alawys go for durability and ease of use.

I bought a Giant AC3 a couple months back. This bike those everything. 6"travel in the back via a fox coil shock, 5" RS Psylo's in the front. Buttery smooth. Practicaly no bobbing. Disk brakes on both wheels. A sweet bike. Payed about 2000$CAN! I highly recommend.

fisher has a new bike dropping this fall, called CAKE. super light 5 inch travel. I designed the catalog and the ads, so on the shoot i got to ride a prototype, a real dope ride.

silliness? for some reason when you give some kids full suspension they feel the need to do drops onto really flat landings.
i say leave that to skateboards becuase it looks better.

i'm considering getting tubeless tires... do i need special wheels to use them? right now iv'e got a pair of mavic crossmaxx's.
- sherman0
not that im aware of.
the tire itself will be different, but i beleive all wheels sets are the same.
- mitsu0
thank sherman, have you had any experience with them? are they really much of an improvement?
- sherman0
apparently they are noticeably heavier, but that will come from a more durable thicker sidewalled tire.

nice picture, but i'm not going to try that with my $2000 hard-tail
