damn! another war already? i just put my giant "give peace a chance" poster back up in my attic! oh well, the thing i love about war is putting on my birkinstocks, t-die and going to the peace rallies and hitting up on hot hippy chicks, they fall for it everytime...
heh heh!

i'm a canadian, not anti-american, but anti bush and definatley anti war. i'd consider myself a 'moderate' or even a realist when it comes down to it but this overt agressive and rougish rhetoric now coming from the usa towards syria and god knows who else is absurd...it is possible to turn moderates to extremists and america is bent on proving that with thousands of innocents as a cost

"Better to stay happy and ignorant right?"
honestly, i think there is some validity here. there are too many problems in the world for everyone to worry about. i've got my hands full with work, friends, family, relationships, bills, health, studies, etc, etc...
this doesn't mean i'm totally apathetic... i just don't have the capacity to worry about everything in the world that someone else thinks *should* be important to me, ya know? i pick my fights and i pick my worries.
stress causes enough problems as it is.

Who cares if we are killing children with our weapons of mass destruction (paid for by the US taxpayer)
We've got our own lives to worry about!

its all about israel people.... the real threat to peace in the mideast.
who has: weapons of mass destruction? invaded its neighbors? committed atrocities and ethnic cleansing against the civilians under its control? used armed forces against civilians?
oh. they are supported by the US to a tune of 10 billion dollars a year.

yes mitsu, that is how most people feel. And this is how mass public opinion can be manipulated.
Phase1 - whip everyone up into a frenzy of fear against some threatening "other"
Phase2 - under the justification of mass fear generated by phase1 you can do whatever you like to the "other" and people will write it off as a natural outcome of phase 1.
Phase3 - calm everyone with images of supposed happiness and feel good stories.
Phase 3 - don't publicise the aftermath. The average joe will not care enough, or have enough time to follow something up unless it is in their face every day. Hence the need for phase 1.

"Who cares if we are killing children with our weapons of mass destruction"
hold on just a second, i'm going to look through this thread to see where i mistakingly posted that...

that's right spk.
and Israel is has broken 60 UN resolutions with the USA helping to bail them out every time.
Iraq had broken 18 before Texaco and Exxon took them over.

the funniest thing about the "protesters"/self-styled "dissenters"
is watching those who revel in cultural/moral relativism attempt to make an argument that something is wrong/immoral.???????????
